Insurance for driver school/track - Mid America Meet?
Hi all:
I'm signed up for the driver school at Hallett during the Mid America Ford meet in Tulsa, Wednesday, June 24 ('09) and also for the track the following Saturday.
I have State Farm insurance, but my policy does not cover any kind of special event such as a driver school or any track time.
Any recommendations for coverage for special events?

Sorry Bob, I don't know of any company that'll cover you just for track time but I'm no insurance expert. Maybe some others will chime in.
I wouldn't put mine on the track without any insurance coverage, but thats just me.

I don't think you will find an insurance company to cover the car when on the track. I have insured several road cars and race cars and currently a few race cars, all are covered up and to the point they enter a track. It does not matter whether it is a parade on the track or a timed event...
The insurance is for every other part....in the trailer, in the paddock, fire, theft ect....
If you do some track time with your Cobra I think you go out with the idea you go 80% or so ...you will still do more serious driving on the track at 80% safely than you will on the street....

Tracking at Hallett
Remember, tracking your car does not improve its value. The Driving School Group and all 3 levels of tracking with Mid-America are watched intently and any goof-ball(s) are escorted from the track. Focus way out front (4 to 5 seconds ahead). You should be fine if you keep it at 80%, and you'll have a blast!

Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to the school, but will probably be the "granny" at the back of the pack!
