Browell bellhousing tool
I am about to fit a scattershield bellhousing and see Browell make a tool that makes aligning the bellhousing a whole lot simpler.
Anyone used it?

Hi Go to hourbor freight an buy the magnetic base an dial indicator about 24 dollars, then cut the mast off to about 3 in. then grind a flat on bothsides where you can mount dial indicator. Its simple an cheap. If you need a pic of mine let me know. Flip

Hello Ross
Took a look at this tool and it looks like it will make aligning a bell housing a lot quicker than using a dial indicator and magnetic base.
It's accuracy would be dependent on not having any dirt, nicks or dings between tool and flywheel crank mounting face
Best regard

Will this work with any bell housing? I don't know which bellhousing I have, but as you can see from the picture I have a leak! Someone told me it is likely a misalignment, an overfilled trans., or a bad seal.
Could it likely be something else?

Tool
I just ordered the Browell tool, the only question they ask when you order is the opening for the transmission, for a Tremec its 4.850. It is exspensive, 135.00 plus shipping. Flip

Highly Recommend one...
I ordered one and used it. I had never aligned a bellhousing before and this method just seemed so much easier and accurate (the tool is designed to give you a .0025” runout). Take a look at my Transmission page on my web site to see how easy it was. If you have never aligned a bellhousing with a dial indicator and would not feel confident in your results I would highly recommend one.

135.00 browell bellhousing alignment tool is a lot cheaper and faster to use vs buying and using a dial indicator and magnetic base with swivel.

Probably should start a new thread on this...but about how long would it take a novice to replace a seal on a Tremec trans (3550)? I have a leak coming from where the trans meets the Lakewood bellhousing and the research I've done tells me it is likely the seal. Any advise is appreciated!

Tool
Its alot easier but it is not cheaper, I bought the dial indicator an magnetic base for 24 dollars verses 135 dollars plus shipping. Dial indicator is aggravating an takes 2 people operate. Waiting for my Browell to come, hope it works Flip

24 dollars for a dial indicator, thats cheap.
Is it made in china.
If it is then you get life time warranty and limited time reliability.
