T-18 shift problem

I'm working on a T-18 4 speed in a CJ-7. It is very hard shifting into 2nd gear. Up or down, it doesn't make any difference. gear box is quiet and smooth except for the hard shift into second. It comes out easily. I'm thinking maybe a worn/burnt synchro hub/ring?

Sounds like it, unless you have something around the shifter handle that's putting it in a bind.
