I agree with jwd. I tried the gap at first and had trouble with third hanging up. I preloaded it so the TOB stopped chirping and my shifting improved. I'm using a McLeod TOB. I believe the extra movement gives the cones time to slow the heavy TKO gears for a better mesh. JMO

I decided to garage my car in August to address multiple issues under the hood. After those are resolved I'll be looking forward to April 2016 to test out the new McLeod throwout bearing.

Hi David

Just a tip.
I installed a HTOB with a tremic to a mates mustang.
The hydraulic lines for the bearing were left hanging out until the extractors were custom made.
He failed to tie up the lines properly and after 3000kms the bleeder line was rubbing on the pressure plate and lost pressure.

So if you end up with flexible lines make sure they can not come in contact the pressure plate.
