Lithium Grease

I have my tremec TKO out to replace and fit a new starter...

Not changing anything internal, same clutch, disc., etc.

Do you guys put a dab of lithium grease on the transmission input shaft? I've read a bunch of different opinions...

I have used Honda Moly 60 Paste on splined shafts for years with very good success. I have heard that Honda no longer imports this product but the Loctite 8012 product should work just as well. High molybdenum disulfide content pastes in general work well on sliding splined connections.

I should have also said, just brush a thin coat on the splines. You don't want excess that will sling out onto the clutch disc.

You might also try the liquid graphite spray you use to lubricate locks. When the carrier evaporates it leaves behind a thin film of graphite that won't hurt your clutch.
