New Transmission Talk Forum.
Cal Metal suggested we should have a separate forum for transmissions to make it easier to find topics which related to this common discussion topic. Good idea Cal.

Brent:
Does this forum still support GT40's? If so, can you add a section for them?

Yes and if you're serious and you think it's worthwhile, yes.

I think it is worth while, time will tell. I'm not a big fan of the new GT from Ford, but the closer it gets, the more attention it will draw. I think the forum should include both old and new.
Thanks Brent, keep up the good work.

BTW, some day I do aspire to trade my ERA for a GT-40. What else is there that is better than a Cobra?

Done. Not much better than a Cobra! Definately a replica GT is on my list of 'gotta have', but that won't be for quite a while.

I hope (or am honored?) I didn't cause this with Turk's asking somebody for a shift knob. I was probably just the last straw, that’s all.
Cal, good idea!

Hopefully, this topic will do several things;
1) Let folks know that the Borg-Warner (now Tremec) T-5Z is a competitive trans, at least for SB applications. It has good gear ratios, is durable, and shifts extremely well.
2) Convince Tremec, or aftermarket suppliers to provide better gearset ratios for the 3550, and TKO.
3) Advise us as to other good trans options: Richmond, Toploader, T-56, etc.
