Default hydrolic clutch

I want to set up an exterior hydolic clutch in my cobra. Does anyone know what kind of hydrolic will give me about 2 inches of throw. I have a clutch fork set up in a manual transmission and have seen this set up done before in some performance cars. Any help would be appreciated. I have a tremec tranny in a 351 windsor with a lakewood bellhousing. My kit is a Everett-Morrison
Thanks
Dave

2" of throw? That's at least twice as much as most require. What kind of fork are you using?

I don't think you'll find a slave capable of much over 1.3".

Dave - Are you using a manual or hydraulic throw-out bearing? I am also building an E-M car with the sml blk Ford engine. I'm using a Centerforce clutch with a Tilton hydraulic throw-out bearing and the clutch deflection could be as little as 1 inch.

Default clutch

Tanman
How are you. I am puting in an exterior hydrolic clutch with a slave cylinder mounted to the bellhousing. The reason I did not go with the interior hydrolic clutch is because I was told they blow out after about 5000 miles then you have to replace the whole clutch. What do you know about it good information or not

Hey Dave,
The 5000 mile reference is news to me. Unless you plan on hitting the drag strip every weekend, these clutches should perform fairly well. I have not heard of massive failures unless the parts are abused.
By the way, where are you located? Maybe we can exchange tips as we go along?
Ron

do a search on hydraulic clutches on the FFR forum, they reference a company in California called auto?(something)I ordered their hydraulic slave set up and it took 10 minutes to install(all brackets to fit TKO or T5)Much easier than throwout bearing and good access in case of problems. chuck

most good hydaulic clutch parts companies can set you up with a system that would work well for the life of your car..

I'm with Bob. You shouldn't need more than 3/4-1" of throw to do the job. Pegasus as well as Jegs or Summit all sell complete parts kits. The bigggest decision you need to make is where and how the clutch will mount. Does your kit have a mounting bracket? If not you may need to use a flool mount. From there the only decision you need to make is whether you need a pusher or a puller system. This may depend on your choice of transmission.

Michael,
Do you know anything about the pusher system. It looks like that is the way I have to go. I bought the slave cylinder from Cobra accessories {Enzo} that mounts on the the bellhousing
Let me know thanks

Take a look at this setup for your clutch.
