Ant,
the issues I experienced might not relate to you. I've heard of only a few problems people had with small blocks as compared to the big blocks and Toploaders. And, after checking a few different aftermarket bellhousings, and even factory ones can be off a little. Blocks vary too, and they are not exact either as we determined in my case. It appears they ALL need to be checked and fitted, but some can be more spot on than others... Go for the Lakewood, but just make sure you align it using the recommended Lakewood procedure. Good Luck. That's just my .02 cents on it though...
