Gforce T5 or TKOII Which is best? any feed back?

If you currently have a T5 then the G-Force box is probably your best bet, you can retain your clutch, bellhousing and driveshaft so it will be more economical and straight forward to install. The T5 is also lighter than the TKO. I've read all the stuff on the new G-Force box but it hasn't been out long enough to see if it really is as tough as they say it is. The TKOII however has a definite track record and is a very tough box but you will have to get a new bell housing, clutch and may have to mod the driveshaft with a new front yoke.

The tko2 is a good box. I believe that the weakness of the tko box is on the downshifts. If that gforce t5 box is dog ringed, I think it might be stronger and better for road race applications than the tko2. Scott

Default TKO 11

Both of these gearboxes cator for low rear end ratios, as they both have very long overdriven top gears. A lot of five speeds have a low gear that is useless for the track, but saves the clutch on street.

Most Americans like a low rear end with anywhere between 0.50 fifth or sixth gear, I would imagine the gap between fourth/fifth to top gear to wide, but its probably not that important up at those speeds. In Kiwi land downunder we tend to go for a higher rear end like a 3.08 and use a 1.1 transmission, but thats only one way to skin a cat!

How does the Richmond street five speed compare with the TKO 11?

Does anyone know where and the approximate cost to have a new TKO converted to a TKO-2; want the .82 5th gear
