Default G-Force T5 gearkit feedback/tech?

Hey,

Ive had a quick search of the forums but have no luck so heres my question:

If anyone has experience with the G-Force T5 helical gears?

If so:

1) Due to the design of the bigger tooth faces, how loud is it compared to a standard T5?

2) Are they semi-helical or the angle exactly like factory?

3) Are they planning of producing a 0.8 OD? (or thereabouts)

Thanks heaps in advance.

Thanks Satanpez, I know about the G-Force site, but unfortunately it answers none of my above questions.

I have tried emailing them but have never recieved a response.

NSW, Australia? If so, welcome to another Aussie ! Look us up under "Local Clubs" on the top toolbar of this site.

Mike Long makes a truly world class product. The next manual trans that I buy will be the GF5R 5 speed G Force trans. Mike spends quite a lot of money on R&D to make sure his products are right to go - even before he has released them to the public.

As far as I'm aware, no-one on ClubCobra or FFCobra have used a GF T5 kit yet. Some of the Mustang guys at www.corral.net have purchased the internals, but I haven't noticed any feedback about them. Might be worth asking over there...

Hey Craig, yep another Aussie here. Your car sounds nutz btw.

Thanks heaps for the corral link, most of my questions have been answered already and I've just posted a topic there.

Cheers,
Vic

Vic,
You might want to look at your post on Corral. You posted asking about G-Tech.... That's the performance analyser that plugs into your cigarette lighter !

About your username - OZVENOM (a Brisbane Cobra builder) put a Tial wastegate and blowoff valve on his turbocharged Lexus V8 Cobra. Great quality stuff !!!

My car's fun to drive - it couldn't turn a corner to save itself, but it accelerates well...

Tial, I would bet the gears are noisy. Think about a jerico. I have a 4 speed. They make a 5 speed. Scott

Default T5 gearkit

Having asked similar questions about the GFT5 Gearkit, some feedback from Transmission experts is they question the 500ftIbs of torque capability of a T5, I explained the make and GForce give a very approx idea on what they think this transmission might take given certain criteria!

I think a syncro version would be marvellous with a 0.90 fifth gear (when they make that), behind a very healthy 347 engine, but if was a potential bomb, I dont want to go Toploader as they are to restrictive with 4 gears, a Richmond would be strong enough, but general opinion is poor gear change. In UNZUD (NZ) a lot of guys run the super T10 trans for racing behind big horsepower 630+ mainly with a pump to circulate/cool oil, if they dont budget for a specialised track box.

I guess the bottom line is with the users and obviously being a relatively new product, not much feedback yet!

I have bought the CTS gear kit made by Quafie UK. Hopefully this will work with it. Cheers!

Have found out that the new G-Force casing to bolt to a Tremec 3550 pattern, not a T5...

Therefore the T5 gearkit is made for a Tremec 3550... very very strange if you ask me!!!

Does this mean that it won't fit 90% of users of T5 Mustang boxes??? Very strange...
