Default What clutch to use for a FE and Toploader

I am about to drop my motor and transmission on to the chassis. I would like to know what clutch system should I go with?
I have a 427 FE with a toploader transmission. Motor puts out about 550 hp.

I ran the McLeod 12" pressure plate and disc setup including the flywheel from David Kee too. So far so good.

I'm having the McLeod 12" p plate and disc installed this week. It will replace an 11.5" unit. Hard to tame 600 plus horse, I need the biggest clutch I can get but DON'T want to go to a "raceing" style clutch. I do drive the street after all.

Duane, anything special about that flywheel? Mine is from a 428 and I plan to have it surfaced and use again. New pilot bushing and throw out bearing while I'm in there.

I use a Center Force and a hydraulic throwout bearing.

Hey Larry,

I was thinking about a Center Force and called them up.
They are recommending a Center Force 2
Part # CFT- 360033
Part# CFT- 281226

I also wanted to go with a Hydralic Throw out Bearing like you mentioned. Any ideas where the best place to get the product.

Thanks for the info.
