Default Repost! Hydraulic clutch for Manuals

This is a repost so that I can retreive lost information regarding the use and application of hydraulic clutch parts. My original query was about the best options for a clutch in a Cobra without using the cumbersom mechanical clutch linkage and "Z" bar assembly.

If you responded to a message similar to this between 15/Sep/04 and 7/Oct/04 please try your best to repost your information to this thread as there was a lot of specific information that I was looking into and that thread was my only link to it.

Thank you.

John

I was hoping to get it posted here as to have for reference to everybody else also. It's just a shame that we lost that thread though as it had a lot of very valuable information in it.

Thank you.

John

Let's see, you had/have a Toploader and you are going to a slave Hydraulic. Okay!

You should visit Pegasus Racing at: www.pegasusautoracing.com

Order a Tilton Master cylinder kit, with a .7 bore.
The slave is the .87 LH.

PN(s) are: 3505-.70 for the master and 3520-.87 LH for the slave.

You will need to fabricate a bracket that uses two or three holes on the bellhousing to form a mouinting surface to allow the slave to be bolted to the power train.

I think I gave a dimensional on the pedals. I used 1/2 " from the fulcrum as the pivot point for the master cylinder and I had something like 6" for the pedal pivot point. It gave a force of 240 pounds for 20 pounds of foot pressure.

I also mentioned the fork was case hardened and will most likely have to be cut, use a diegrinder with a cutoff wheel.

John, can you remember anything else we discussed???

Trularin,

I think that about covers the setup we were discussing. Unfortunately, my memory is not anyhting one would want to write home about, My organization skills also leave some to be desired, that's why I reposted this thread. It's very easy for me to create a hot link to this thread. Thanks for taking the time to repost this information it is very valuable to me and hopefully others too.

Any one else care to chime in information that was shared on the former thread? Clois?

Again, Thank you.

John
