Default TKO 600 Throwout Bearing Options- HELP

Okay, I thought this was going to be plug and play- but I was wrong. I need help from someone who has a Tremec TKO installed behind a 385 series big block. I can't find a throwout bearing thin enough to work for my application yet.
Bellhousing is OEM iron, for 429/460 with a depth of 6.250 inches. I am trying to use a TKO 600 with the short input shaft for fords (6.50 inch long input shaft). I am using a center force dual friction diaphragm clutch. My total distance between the clutch pressure plate fingers when installed and torqued and the rear face of the bell housing is 2.557 inches. This also includes the 0.075 thick motor plate. This means I would need a throwout bearing with a total installed height of about 2.400 since measured from the trans front housing face. Most of these bearings have 2.60 and above installed heights. I understand we need about 0.100 to 0.150 of clearance between the bearing contact face and the clutch fingers. Correct me if I am wrong someone. I have talked to Tilton tech line and they don't have a bearing thin enough for the TKO trans. for my application. Will the McLeod second gereration bearings work, I am wondering if the Mcleod #1364 will work. Is anyone out there running a TKO with the McLeod bearings ????? Please help, you guys are a great resource. thanks in advance.

Bill

I had one go out and Gordon Levy handled the fix. Give him a shout! "Ask Gordon"

Why don't you ask Centerforce. They have a couple of throwout bearings that might work.

You might want to check with Fortes Ford. Mike helped me out with my bearing issue. Great Guy!
