From Autometer's website:
We first suggest contacting Speedometer Service out of Milwaukee, WI. They can assist you with adapters, cable gears, and new cables for virtually every application. The phone number to reach them at is: (414) 463-6660.

You can order a 60" speedometer cable from Rock Auto Parts, part number Y-807 for $11.23. I replaced mine in the spring and I have a toploader and S/W speedo.

Default ANY speedo shop can handle a custom length

I had a speedo cable that was about 1/2" too short...would work for a couple of months and then slink away from where it should have been...speedo needle would get crazy.

Went to "ye' old local" SPEEDO-GAUGE''S SHOP.

He decided very quickly the cable was too short...had lots of cables hanging in his shop area that already had the flats and collar on one end...got one a little longer in lenght....cut off the excess length and then CRIMPED the other end with a DIE in his bench vise to put the correct # of flats to engage the trans drive gear.

Took about 30 minutes, cost $20.

9000 miles latter it still works great.

I do not think you need a special "top-loader" cable...just a cable the right length.

Pete
