like was said before, spin the tranny through the gears making sure it is smooth. Then, look inside to make sure no gears are chipped, and the small synchro teeth on all the gears are good and not worn/chipped. If so, then buy it for a price expecting to rebuild it, set of synchros, bearings, + labor.
Personally, I'd buy either a new tranny, or a rebuilt one from a shop that knows and rebuilds these tranny's, such as D & D that advertises in mustang 5.0 magazine.
