Glad it helped you. I picked up that trick and many other little things working in my Dad's shop. Now he works with me in my shop and still has little tricks that save the day.

Thank God he appears to have had a full recovery from what ever he had when I was a teenager. Now he is full of great ideas but way back then I worried about him a lot. LMAO !!!

Liquid nitrogen on the pin works magic - you need good full leather gloves and it burns real deep fast - doctors use it to burn out warts.

when you go to buy it take a large thermos - and don't screw the cap on too tight as the gas that boils off need to go some where.

Great also for fitting interferrence bushes - drop the bush in the liquid nitrogen - then slip into place.

Be real careful with it! the gloves are there to give you enough time to wash it off with lots of water before it burn through the gloves. Also safety glasses, apron and cover boots essential. It flows like water so make sure if you pour on to the pin it has some where to flow. Pratice with water first but make sure its dry before using the liquid nitrogen.

After much swearing, I got my dowel pins out of the block yesterday. Using a tungsten carbide grinding bit, I ground flat spots into them and twisted them out with a large pair of channel lock pliers.

The real question is why do the aftermarket block suppliers even use these short, useless pins in the first place? It would make way more sense to supply the blocks pin free!
