Default Super T -10. Where is 1,2,3 & 4th.

I'm sure there is a guru that can answer this question.

On the drivers side of the Super T-10 transmission there are three shifter tabs. The one rearmost is Reverse. The two others tabs standing vertical on the transmission operate 1st. 2nd. 3rd. & 4th. I'm trying to clarify if my understanding is correct.

The tab closest the front when moved forward is 4th. gear, moved back past neutral is 3rd. gear. Correct?

The next tab rearward is 1st. and forward past the neutral is 2nd. Correct.

I look forward to your comments,

Arthur

Thanks, this is good info and I will keep it filed. Still does not clear up my question on what gear you are in when the tabs move front to back.

Makes sense....

First shifter cam is 4th (forward) & 3rd.

Second is 2nd (forward) and 1st.

Third is reverse.

That's the way it is on a Toploader.

Or wait.....is the middle one on a Toploader reverse? I can't remember....been awhile since I've been in one.

The front one is for sure 3rd/4th.

You can take a little wrench and move the shifter lugs each way. The one towards the rear of the transmission that clicks when you go each way would be 1st/2nd. The reverse gear actually slides back and forth on a shaft with no synchronizers, so it should be easy to feel it.
