Toploader Tranny rebuild

I would like to know if anyone used the method that Toploader Heaven is using to press the bearing and gears off of the shaft?

Or will I have to still find a machine shop to do this.

Use the shop.

Fast, easy and you do not regret that accident you had doing it yourself.

Take it to a shop that has the proper tools. Any shop with a hydraulic press will have the necessary "Clam shells" required to remove and install bearings on a shaft. Most dealerships, rear end shops, tranmission shops and independent repair shops will have them. Lots of choices. It is a very quick job.

I used toploader heavens instructions with my rebuild, No proublems what so ever, go ahead and try it. Save a few bucks, realy no big deal.

I used Top Loader Heaven method as well. To much hassle taking the part to a machine shop, going back to pick it up, just handle it and be done.

...and DON'T drop the little lock pin for reverse in the bottom of the case, real easy to do that. Oh it will apparently shift OK, maybe, until everything get's "just right" and then BAM, the gears are locked in either first or reverse. You won't find out for sure until after you install the trans and put a few miles on it.
