The Cobra Revolution is under way!
All right, folks, the Revolution is ON! The event will be Saturday, June 5 from around 11:00 a.m. to around 2:30 p.m. at the Washington's Crossing State Park, in Washington's Crossing, Pennsylvania. I say around those times as the Park has a fundraising event scheduled for 5 p.m. that day and I've made promises that we will be outta there not later than 3 p.m. If you want to show up at 10:00 we'll be there, so don't be afraid you'll miss something if you're early. Rain date is June 6, same times.
Still trying to hold the el cheapo fees, will have burgers/dogs/pizza/soft drinks for all. I don't have the final numbers yet but will within a couple days.
I will ask that all who attend consider donating $5 for the Washington's Crossing Park folks, as they have seen draconian budget cuts this past year and can use all the help they can get. They don't charge us for the use of the park and have been mighty damn good to us in the past. Remember this is where your liberty began, on that fateful Christmas Eve - let's show 'em that we REMEMBER!
OK, now we will need to start on head counts. Since I'm about as computer-illiterate as a basset hound, the plan right now is to collect at the gate....but to get enough food I'll need to know how many of you reprobates will be there. Don't be shy!

It will be my first time and I am looking forward to it. Since I have never been there, I looked on Google maps and it shows 2 Washington Crossing Parks, one in PA and one in NJ. Where will the Revolution be? Anyway sign me up.

Fangs, it's going to be on the Pennsy side. Rt. 29 runs thru the park and the lot we use is kinda caddy-corner to the Visitors Center (which is closed due to no $$). Easy to get to....just beware of the Washington's Crossing bridge. The bridges you built as a kid to cross a stream were magnitudes larger.
Bill, make contact with Rich Siegfried - I'm pretty sure he's got that stuff. And tell Klayman if he doesn't show up we're going to roast him in effigy

Yeah, man!
Ray - you just know it's gonna pass. Bring that black bag of $100 bills and a .45 tucked into your waistband.
Jim - been a long time - looking forward to seeing you again!
Karl - Awesome! Would that be the Go-Kart or the JenYooWine 427? Either would be a spectacular add to the day.

turnpike boy,
Sorry but I got myself confused. You say it will be on the Pennsylvania side and that Rt 29 runs through it. But on Google maps Route 29 is in N.J. I am guessing it is in NJ and I have to cross the bridge to get to it from PA. Is that correct?

It's hard to redo an event the next day. Good luck and safe trip for all who go. Rick L. Ps I will be back.

Umm....My bad! You're spot on about the route number - Rt. 29 is wrong, Rt. 32 is the one. Also known as River Road. However - if you're coming up from below Philly, my recommendation would be to take Rt. 95 North to the last exit in PA, which is Rt. 32/River Road. Go north on this toward New Hope - Wash's Crossing is only about 4 or 5 miles up.
Avoid the Washington's Crossing bridge unless you have a perverted sense of balance....it is so narrow that Expeditions, Dodge Rams, et al are prohibited from using it. While the Cobra ain't so large, there's no telling how much room Gramma wants while she's coming at you the other way.
p.s. - Thank you, Jamie!

Eighth Annual Cobra Revolution – Washingtons’ Crossing Park
Saturday, June 5th, 11:00am -3:00pm
(Rain Date: Sunday June 6th)
This year we are going to continue with the same menu as last year. After all, the idea we try to stick with year in and year out is a simple event centered around friends, family and the COBRAS………………..
We will provide plenty of burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, snacks and beverages. Again, please remember that alcohol is not permitted inside the park grounds. If you want to bring a salad of dessert, please do so. It just adds to the COBRA family fun.
We encourage everyone to bring their cameras, as there will be numerous photo opportunities.
Although the COBRA REVOLUTION VIII itself is only June 5th from 11am to 2pm , we welcome all visitors to join us for an after show cruise. It will include drives through some long, windy and wide open country roads. This has become part of our tradition and one of the most looked forward to events. Around 2:15pm, the cars start lining up and cruise routes are handed out. Cruise start time is approximately 2:45pm. The cruise will end around 4pm. If you plan to make it a weekend, and need hotel information, feel free to ask and we will get hotels lined up for you. We need to be out of the park by3:00pm….sharp.
Washington Crossing Park is located on the border of Pennsylvania and New Jersey , in historic Bucks County Pennsylvania. It is conveniently located right off of I-95, and close to Route 1 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. We have a huge parking lot all to ourselves. On site is plenty of shade and public restrooms.
Feel free to e-mail any questions to Rich or Patty at pnrstation@verizon.net or phone 610-759-6294 . You may also contact Roger or Lynn payneful@verizon.net 732-718-1994. We do need a good head count by June1,2010.
Directions: The website for the park is http://www.phmc.state.pa.us/bhsm/toh...oncrossing.asp if you wish to look it up for your specific starting location. The street address of the visitors center (which is 200 yards from our area) is 1112 River Road , Washingtons ’ Crossing , Pa. 18977 . There will be Cobra Revolution signs nearby to guide you in.
General directions- If you are on I-95 North, get off at the New Hope exit (last exit in PA). Turn left at the bottom of the ramp, onto Taylorsville Rd. Travel approx. 1-2 miles and turn right onto General Washington Memorial Rd. (Rt. 532). Go straight on Rt. 532 less than one mile, and you will come to a stop sign just before a bridge that would take you into New Jersey . Turn left at the stop sign. You will pass the visitors center on your right. Just past that, there will be an entrance to the park on your left (a huge flag pole stands there). Turn into the park and you will see our parking lot on your right.
From I-95 South, get off at the New Hope exit (first one in PA). Turn right onto Taylorsville Rd. and follow the directions above.
