Default Saturday & Sunday Double Header AutoX, SE PA

Warminster Comm. Park, I'm thinking about trying my first autoX on that saturday event. More info at this link, it is the Philly SCCA page.

Default First ever autocross, great fun

Hey Guys, I did go and try my first autocross with the scratch built 427 on saturday. It was the only saturday event of the year for the philly SCCA club, held on the old runway at the former Navy Base NADC in Warminster, now the Warminster Comm. Park. I had a great time and the locals were very helpful to a rank beginner, I had four runs in the AM and set cones in the PM, everything was done by 2pm and they set up for fun runs.

I will try again if they have another saturday event, or the Hershey area SCCA club has saturday events at Hershey Park, I can try that venue.

regards, karl

I wish I would have seen this thread earlier. My father used to work at NADC and it is a 5 minute walk from my parent's house to the park. I would have liked to see your car in action.

Hey, It was a good time for me to try the autocross. The regulars were saying that north jersey & hershey both had saturday events and the weather forecast all together kept the attendance from an expected 180 in the 90 range.

The course was fun, a bit tight for a 427 cobra. They did say the park people had taken away approx. 500' of runway by placing new barriers. They are going to request the barriers be moved a bit to gain some of that track space back.

I would like to do several more but the schedule is filled with sunday races. I may have to travel to hershey or north jersey to do more saturday racing.
