A. Both occupants unrestrained.
B. '1967 Mustang' reg.
The insurance company will not be picking-up this claim call.

It would appear this car was not registered as the car it most closely resembles per SEMA guidelines.

I don't believe Jersey as of yet has adopted SEMA

The occupants' guardian angel must have been flying along at a pretty good clip. No injuries; no restraints. At least no alcohol or drugs were mentioned.

It's news. Accuracy and news don't always go together.
You are assuming that the media knows anything about what they are writing about.

My Backdraft is registered in Arkansas as a 1965 Roadster but I had to get a "Street Rod" plate, not "Antique." . My insurance has lots of photos and an agreed on value. I sure hope I never need to find out if I did this right.

It says the passenger was transported by the New Jersey State Police Aviation Unit. I don't think they do that unless you're pretty banged up.

I'm surprised there have not yet been any comments exhibiting that infamous "Jersey attitude." I'm sure I can't do it as well as a true NJ native, but I'll give it a try just to be in character with the story. "What kind of freakin moron lets a 25 year old who's not smart enough to wear seat belts have and drive a Cobra?"

Sorry....... But a Jersey father seat belts sometimes won't even help an 25 year old kid.

This is one of the reasons I ordered a removable steering wheel with my car. I can lock the wheel up in my safe.

Thinking a "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" deal. I'd be getting some kind of real whooping right about now when I was that age, not to mention the several years of hard labor to make up for it!

I learned early and the hard way not to mess with Dad's cars...

My partner knows and speaks with the Somerset County Prosecutor all the time. I also know him and have had cases with him before he became County Prosecutor. If you are really that interested in this case the reports will be available once the investigation is done.

I don't know the driver but this is another prime example of too much motor and not enough brains.

It's accidents like this were there is not only serious property damage but injury that you want to make sure your Bill Boards aren't any basis to deny a claim. You are not only dealing with first party claims but third party claims. I know Patrict will explain this to everyone. This guy looks like he was running radials so at least tire won't be a rock the carrier can crawl under.

This is an example of why I want my "little confirmation memo" in my file. Not all of us are insurance policy gurus like Patrickt.

Bill,

Let me be the first to answer the question you are asking.

I don't have a clue as to who the occupants were in the car. I do hope that they are okay. I could not read the whole article as it a paid site.

As for speculating on this or that regarding what occurred I am not going to bother. This or that includes the following - driving ability, car make, test drive not test drive, borrowed, insurance, tire type, horse power, engine, transmission, utility pole location to the road, traffic conditions, road conditio, type of grass seed that might be used to replace what got burned or what the fire fighters had for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Here is another article about this accident that includes the names. Someone commented underneath, saying that the passengers were in stable condition and recovering if that is accurate.
