Jim,
Just as an FYI, almost any car, regardless of age can have be registered under the "limited useage" or "collector car" registration. My 1995 SVT Cobra convertible (one of the first cars along with my BOSS 351 at the time to go through this process) was registered this way, as way my 99 GT Convertible. Both got inspected for just the odometer working, as this is what they verify for the mileage useage (they are very strict on this and will pull your limited usage registration if you go over it). I know of several older cars, and even a few new ones (Porsche and Corvette related) that are fresh off the showroom floors, yet have the little triangular inspection sticker signifying the limited usage registration....So, the age of the motor has nothing to do with this type of registration...Sorry, I rambled, but my point does come out in the long run.
Yours In NJ based Fords,
Bill S.

You are correct about the collector car registration. Engine date has nothing to do with getting CC status. My engine certification by DMV was only done that in the event that I decide to drop the collector car status, I can use 1967 emission test levels. This was critical for me since the car has a set of 48 IDA Webers.
You are also correct, they are very strict in the milage usage of a collector car which I believe is limited to 3,000 miles per year. no exceptions there.
What I failed to mention in my previous posting, upon my intial inspection least week in NJ, I was inspected for a correct operating odometer and I WAS tested for emissions, which I am happy to say passed with flying colors. I was told that while the emission test was not required by the State of NJ, Parsons randomly test cars with collector status for statistical reporting purposes. They said this was done specifically to me (and other cars) since the car had a 1967 engine with a set of Webers which was not standard on that engine. Maybe the inspector was just having a bad day.
Bill I understand you have gone thru this with DMV more than most of us. I just wish I was on a first name basis with the girl's at DMV so I could bet the QQ plates.

Bill S.
I have a few friends that usually bring thier cars to the shows on LBI, will probably join them provided the weather is good. They usually bring T-birds & Corvettes (no cobra's).
My shore house is located in the Coves on the main land side (low rent district). Hope to see you there on the 26th.

And by the way, Wall certainly qualifies as South Jersey (not that there's anything wrong with that)
