Default Cobras trough Lincoln Tunnel

Now I may be getting ahead of myself here because my car is not finished yet and won't have plates for a month or so, but I was driving through Lincoln Tunnel the other night and thought it would be incredible to drive through there with a caravan of 5 or 10 cobras (assuming of course you don't pass out from breathing the "air" in the tunnel ).

I throw this out there as merely a thought right now, but it would be very cool to do. We could do it on a Saturday night and meet in one of the rest stops on the Turnpike. Anyone up for a drive through Lincoln Tunnell in the early fall?

Jamie Wyeth, a local Pennsylvania artist, is a cobra fan. He had an original S/C. He said that the coolest thing was blasting through the Lincoln tunnel late at 3:00 a.m. leaving NYC after some art openning or party. He said it really cleared out the cobwebs. He said that it is his greatest car memory. It's cool that even the sensitive artist types can appreciate the brutishness of these cars.

Default Count me in!

I'm still working on my ERA #647 but might be done early fall.
And I 'm only five miles from the Tunnel. Count me in.

You might want to think about a cruise around Manhattan on a nice Saturday am. THAT's a great ride on a bike. I'll assume better with rolling thunder.

I'd rather go on a nice drive up in Sussex/Hunterdon County than deal with traffic and the crazies.

I'll pass.

Oh come on Evan, if we left early a.m. on a sat. or sun. morning, there'd hardly be any traffic at all. We could be in and out before 9:30 a.m. I'll even supply the ear plugs

But sign me up for a trip to Sussex/ Hunterdon counties. By the way, started the car this weekend and it sounds great. First gear and reverse seem to work very well Sent all the paperwork in to DMV, so hopefully in the next 4-6 weeks, I'll have plates.

Congrats. We'll have to get together. Met Blue Rooster this past Sunday in Chester. Nice guy. Nice car.

Central Jersey guys should try to get together on Sunday or Saturday mornings at a central location. Talk cars and general BS.

Theres a really good Deli in Warren. There open in the morining early with good coffee and bagels and stuff. Good parking.

This would just be for us "f'n" waxers. No pretend racers.

That sounds like an excellent idea. Only racing allowed will be to the deli counter

It was good meeting you too Evan. I do think you should this though. In through the Holland out through the Lincoln...Sunday morning is awesome. Roads are empty. We used to ride mountain bikes through the city on Sunday mornings for the hell of it. Through the park and all, it is an experience you wont forget.

Guys: I'll pass on the tunnel thing. It gives me the hibbee jebbees.

I think we should designate a location on Saturday or Sunday morning and get together for breakfast like once or twice a month.

I would suggest Warren, N.J. Jack Coopers Deli. Its a very good jewish deli. Bagels, lox, whitefish etc.. Very good coffee. Great parking facilities. Its quiet and out of the way there.

Who's up for it? Lets designate some dates to meet. Our "Tri State Club" is probably the least organized and participated in Cobra Club in the country. Maybe that will change.

I'll be in Somerville tonight. Dane, do you want me to save you a spot?

Guys,

I've already done the trip through the Lincoln Tunnel and can tell you it is a blast (literally(.Then again, I've already recreated the trip through Times Square at 5am on a Sunday morning, so the Gumball thing is a "been there, done that" idea.............Got to get out there early if you plan to use any type of speed through that area...Anything later, and your traffic central.......................

No joke, those guys in Texas and the Deep South put us to shame. I'd be up for a meeting once or twice a month. Breakfast followed by a nice drive sounds pretty good.

Where in Somerville are you going and what time will people be there until? I can't drive the ERA yet, but if I get home early enough, I may swing by in the "other" car.

I'd like to do the NYC run at least once on a Sunday. Sounds like a blast. I'd also be up for the twice a month meet/cruise.

I'm sure Bill K and Tom R would be up for it also.

I would suggest the first and last Saturday of the month. Saturday because some guys go to car shows on Sunday. The first and last because, well, who knows , just because....

I would suggest meet at 9:00 hang out for an hour or so. Shoot the $hit then go on a nice drive.

Dane/Chaplin: I'll be going about 4:00. Come on down! I'll be parked on Main Street. Black Cobra (name Christine) owner wearing glasses but handsome and intelligent looking.
