Default Hey Roscoe- Vinyl Question

Roscoe-
Since someone who shall remain nameless (ok Computerworks ) previoulsy annointed you the Garden State King of Static Cling, I have a question for you.

I think you said that you got some clear vinyl that you put on your rear fenders to protect them from rock damage, etc., where did you get it?

I need to get some At least I have touch up paint

Thanks.

Chaplin:
Not to jump in front of Roscoe but you may be referring to Invincashield by 3M.

Don,
Thanks for the thought, but I am familiar with the invicashield. I think Roscoe used plain clear vinyl cut to shape, which may be cheaper and easier to install than the invicashield. But I may be wrong . . .

Mike,

Evan has a set of leatherett chaps for his car and they look good.

I was thinking about getting a set for my car.

Is there a limit to how much you can spend on a Cobra.

Please tell me Evan's chaps are not assless (sorry couldn't resist). I would like to see his and see how they attach.

As to your question, I think the only limit is the extent of your wallet

Chaplin,

Any vinyl sign shop will have the clear self adhesive backed clear you need.

Bill-
Off hand, do you happen to know of a sign shop in the area?

Thanks.

K & N Nameplate Inc, 198 Passaic Ave, Fairfield, NJ, 07004-3583, 973-227-7770

They recently moved but are still in Fairfield.

Peel n' Stick Clear static cling vinyl. Around 5 bucks for a 3 x 3 sheet. I made a cardboard template and just cut out the shapes.

Roscoe-
I tired calling K&N, but they either changed their name or are no longer in business. But I did find a place in Kenilworth and picked up a sheet of clear static cling vinly this weekend.

However, I can't get it to stick well. It will "sort of" stick if I press it on and smooth it out with my hands, but I have a feeling it would blow off before I made it out of my driveway. Any secrets for getting this stuff to stick well?

Windex, my man, Windex.

Wet down the area with Windex and lay it on. Squeege the thing to get all the little bubbles out.
