Cobra car show "Cobra Revolution II", June 5th!!
More details will be coming soon. We had our first meeting of the Tri-State Plus Cobra club last Saturday. Almost 20 members showed up. We had a great lunch. I think we have a solid basis for our club.
The centerpiece for our club is a Cobra car show/BBQ/picnic. The Cobra Revolution II. We have chosen Saturday, June 5th as our date. This is a good time, as it is several weeks after Carlisle, several weeks before DVSFIV and not too hot. I have to work on finalizing the location, but it is very likely going to be at Washingtons' Crossing Park. It's a great location, as it is fairly central. Straight up I-95 for those from the south, down I-95 for those from the north, and straight east for those from central PA, etc... Most of you know where it is, but for those that don't, it is right along the Delaware River between PA and NJ (on the PA side). It's where the famous crossing of the Delaware by Washington and his troops took place.
So mark your calendars for June 5th. It's a great opportunity to show off our cars and probably the only Cobra centered car show in the area. We're planning to add a cruise route and other things to do. We had nearly 40 Cobras last year, our goal for this year is over 50. Help us get there!
Steve

Steve.
Sorry the Core Crankoids won't be there this year, that is the weekend of the Vintage races at the Glen and also two days of Open track with Apex on the 7th and 8th.
Too bad, we had a nice time last year. You know our priorities Open track first, everthing else second.

Too bad Cranky can't make it, I wanted to talk to him about oven track events, but I can make it. Their are a lot of nice driving roads on both sides of the the river around Washington's Crossing.

Steve,
Great location.
I am not that familiar with the picnic areas on the PA side of the river, but there is a private picnic area available by reservation only called Green Grove in Washington Crossing Park on the NJ side of the river that you might want to consider. There is a fee ($4 I think) to enter the park during the summer.
We will try to make it, but I am pretty sure this date conflicts with another commitment.

Yeah...great...now that you said "pray for sunshine", you know we're screwed, don't you?
I think I'm kinda like another Cobra owner I know in the bad luck weather department...it rained on my wedding day (we were supposed to be married outside)...rained on the original date of Cobra Revolution I...a hurricane ruined the spot of the Cobra event we did in the fall...it snowed for my wifes' baby shower last weekend... If it's sunny, I'll be afraid....very afraid...
Hopin' for the best.

TPB, this is going to be a family event. Please leave the mask and rubbers at home
As of right now, that date works for me.
Jamvan & 649, maybe we can meet up and cruise down together? Stay tuned as the months pass . . .

Bill,
If you didn't have a Cobra by then, I'd be shocked!! You can always bring one of your Mustangs. As I've said before, I'm waiting for you to show up in a lowered Civic with 22" rims, clear tail lenses, glow in the dark nitrous discharge vents and a stereo with more wattage than the motor has horsepower!
Turnpikeboy,
Welll have to offer up a sacrificial "lamb" to please the rain gods. How about offering up a Corvette? They're usually timid like a lamb.

Steve,
I have the blanket you sent up, did I hear you say you wanted a Civic with 22" wheels embroidered on it???. How about a Cobra with 22" wheels. Tought to get the neon lights to work embroidered in the blanket. Guess I'll have to use some flourecent green trim then...........

Stick a black carbon fiber hood, a 4' wing on the back and a pair of glow in the dark washer nozzles, and you got yourself a car!! How 'bout putting an MR2 on that blanket?? I'll e-mail you and figure out what to actually put on it.
I called Washingtons' Crossing State Park, and they told me we would be welcome there. The permit is only $50. They have facilities large enough to accomodate us. Apparently, the Miata club and the Corvette club use the grounds for their get togethers too. Should we book the same date as them??

...no problem on sacrifices - I'll just push the car outta the garage and go for a ride in the snow. A genuine commitment to the raingod.
As to "...a family affair" - well, o.k. Does this mean you've axed the wet t-shirt contest? - if so, there will be no appeasement to the rain god!
Yah - make it the same day as the RPSB's. Oughta really get their panties in a bunch.

Gcruz,
Have you sent me all your info by e-mail? Name, address, contact, etc...? If you already have, sorry for my ignorance (it'll take me a while to match up screen names to people). If you haven't, just send it to me and you will be part of our club. I plan to have another meeting sometime in the spring.
I'm going to Washingtons' Crossing tomorrow to check out the pavillions. The permits are $50 per day. Need to decide if we should spend the extra $50 to reserve the same pavillion for Sunday, June 6th in case it rains on Saturday.... any thoughts? I think it would be a good idea.

Just tell the wife about New Hope and nearby Peddlers Village. They are full of quaint little shops and such. She'll be convinced.
As for the wet t-shirt contest....well, I just booked our pavillion. It is right along the Delaware River. So we have a perfect water source.
I decided to choose the pavillion in Washingtons' Crossing Park that is very scenic. The parking lot is large and can hold all of the cars. The pavillion is right next to it, down a small flight of stairs. It is right on the river. Really a nice site.

revolution
Hey Steve,
Looks like a go for me!
Is there a registration form for the Revolution II?
Also, what is on the agenda, i.e., start and finish times, events, food, etc.
Finally, being a one day event with some of the guys traveling from a distance, are any of the guys staying over? If so, when, Friday night or Saturday night? And has anybody got any decent hotels/motels in the area?
Tony
