Last cruise of the season
Is there any intrest in going on a last cruise of the season during thanksgiving weekend. I'm thinking of Sat. or Sun. morning.
I think we should meet somewhere that is centrally located and has a heated indoor meeting area, like a diner.
Mike

As I enter the garage and see the mess that is upon me that will be a cobra . . . .
I am jealous of any man who owns a running one!

I think....
....that the older I get, the bigger a wuss I become.
Tried to get to the All-Fords show at Englishtown on Sunday...got about 5 miles before I couldn't feel my hands anymore, this with (unlined) leather gloves on.
OK, screw this, nice try but a ride in a Cobra just doesn't justify becoming a popsicle anymore.
Mike - IF the weather around T'sgiving is endure-able, and IF she doesn't have some pre-commitment, I would very much like to go for a season-ender.
...just don't wait for me if it's below 50*

We are all getting older so we can allow top and heaters.
I thought I knew just about every town in NJ. Where is Clayton Nj located?

About 15 miles or so east of NJ TPKE exit 2.
Don't blink though, you would miss it . . .

Mike/Roger,
OK you wusses - it wasn't THAT cold on Sunday! My wife and I went to All Fords at Englishtown (note I said even the wife went) and we didn't need no no stinkin' top on our Cobra (do have heat though )! Only one other guy showed with a Cobra from Atlantic Highlands.
Guess it's about time for you guys to move to Florida!

Jet,
If I had Penny to ride with I would have made it too.
But the cold weather and and family kept me from getting and early start, I was ready by 11:30 but thought it was too late to start out, by 2:00 I thought, should have gone.
I can count on you for thankgiving weekend, right ? When and where?

Mike,
If we are not out of town for the holiday (still a possibility) we would be up for a drive that weekend - time and location TBD.

Guess nobody will join me for my annual New Years Day ride if you think it's already too damn cold out.

HOLY CRAP!
Man! Youse boys are rough! Show your sen-si-tive side for even a second, and you take chunks out!
OK, Chappy-MrM-SixFourNine-Jet; since the gauntlet is down, YOU'RE ON. New Years Day it is - and I will meet you all in: Point Pleasant, NEW JERSEY. Lobster Shanty, Wharfside, CrabShack, hey, wherever!
This way, no whining about how that's too close to his house, or my house, no whining about any discernable advantage.
By the way - NO HEATERS AND NO TOPS. and you will be checked to verify a disabled heater.
We WILL separate the mens from the chillins on this run.
Signed, The Icy TollTaker

TP:
Same place every year Morristown Green, 11am...............Be there, or be square..........
Bill S.
PS: Safety first, if it's snowing, then a ride around your general neighborhood will surfice, as the Morristown area is not the place to be when it's snowing, especially in a Cobra..............

Wade,
You're like the damn mailman....neither rain, sleet, snow....
EZPass thief,
You don't even have your cigar to warm you up anymore, do you? I've got a heated blanket that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Won't do much for your noggin, but it'll keep you toasty from the mid-chest down. Just huddle around the sidepipes after the ride, and you'll be fine. I took two people, maybe three, for test rides in my car in the dead of winter last year. Probably 35 degrees outside. Ride was fun, though my cheeks had frozen to the point I couldn't talk.
Bill,
The New Years day cruise wouldn't count if our car was on the back of a trailer, huh?
Steve

But Bill, there's no diner at the Green in Morristown, a little hot coffee might be nice.

I'll assume you mean this one, where I first had to drive the 42 miles (one way) just to get someone with enough BALLS to take my annual New Years Day run.............yes, long before there was a heater or a convertible top installed on this car, John "Frigid balls" McMahon did actually take me up on my request for a partner in crime.....Little did he know I would actually show up at his door step exactly when I said I would . John has now understood what I meant when I said
"I am a man of my word"........
Might I add "for the record", that it was a brisk 18 degrees when I left my house in the AM, 24 degrees when I picked up JM, 26 degrees when we met Cranky at his place, and 16 degrees when I finally arrived back home....All in all well over 100 miles were travelled that day..............
Bill S.
PS: Boy do I miss that car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
