Default How about a Cobra Christmas gathering?

I've taken some ribbing for repeatedly posting the idea on our site, www.midatlanticcobras.com, but time is drawing close.

What do you guys think about getting together for the holidays? I know everyones' schedule is busy this time of year, mine is nuts. So I was thinking something really simple. Just find a restaurant and sit down and eat. Maybe we could do a lunch or brunch if that would help...so if you've got evening plans, it won't interrupt them. I was thinking the weekend of December 4th/5th or 11th/12th.

Anyone in, or should we shoot for January?

Thumbs up Yup....

We're in.

Either weekend should be OK; will check with the social sec'ty to confirm.

Anyplace. That'll be fine. North, South, East, or West.

Brunch / lunch likely to be best - evenings tuff to put together.

Jack, I can assure you I'll be coming without my Cobra too. A bit too cold, not to mention the same old seating issue.

I've gotten several responses that people are interested. Let's pick the afternoon of 12/11. That way, it won't interfere with any evening plans.

Now for a location. I still think somewhere in Bucks County, or maybe directly across the river is best. It's fairly central for most folks. Ideas? I haven't lived there since 1991, so I don't know all the places.

I would love to get together that weekend, I is my daughter's 16th Birthday and she want's to go to the shore and no she does not get to drive my cobra on her birthday, December 9 way too cold to drive to the shore. Just remeber Christmas cheer is costly this time of year. The Stone House Bistro in Newtown serves a nice brunch on Sunday, parking lot on Rt. 532 we stoped at on the way to the parade in Newtown, $$$, but nice. Yardley Inn, nice lunch meneu on River Road, Yardley, nice view of river. Lambertville Station, nice meneu and view of river, River Horse resturant, Lambertville. What ever, you guys and girls enjoy your selves and no Santa will not be makeing any early stop at you house.

As much as I'd like to do the King of Prussia area (we could convince the wives to go...great shopping), I think the Bucks County area is best. People from DE and NJ have expressed interested, and that would be easy for them. So who can recommend someplace that can accomodate us?

To Steve: Please read 2 posts above yours to get an idea of where to eat and dine.
To TP: Santa need a engine to work on first before new stuff is doled out, so prepare to wait untill after santa get his.
To ALL: sorry I will not be able to attend if you settle on that weekend, but as you all know, Santa is Busy This Time of Year, so you all better watch out he knows if you you have been bad or good and as is Rogers case carefull.

Corky...uh Santa...
Thanks for the suggestions. I've been to the Lambertville Inn. Quite a nice place. I'm pretty open to ideas, but do want to keep it informal and fairly inexpensive. I think we are going for Dec. 11th, as that is what got the overwhelming number of votes. I'm sorry you won't be able to make it. Hope you have a good time with your daughter on her Sweet 16. Make sure all keys to the Cobra are accounted for!!

OK, we're all set. Here are the details.

It will be Saturday, Dec. 11th at noon. Location is TGI Fridays in Langhorne/Oxford Valley. This is the best solution we can come up with. It's family oriented (as I know some wives are coming, and maybe some children), good food, good price. And it's about as central as we could make it for PA/NJ/NY/DE, etc... folks. If you are planning to attend, please let me know so we can get a head count to give to Fridays. For those needing to convince the wife or significant other, the Oxford Valley Mall and it's HUGE shopping area around it are right on premises.

Alright guys, I could use some help. We had originally scheduled the Cobra Christmas party for noon next Saturday. On our clubs' website, there is a thread about perhaps making it a little later. Perhaps 1pm or 2pm. I'm pretty flexible on schedule, what do you guys think. Should we leave it at noon, or move it to 1 or 2pm? The reason I chose noon was so that if folks had evening plans, this wouldn't interfere.

Also, an interesting opportunity has come up. See the thread on our club site from Dr. Dyno. Perhaps we could discuss doing a dyno day/show in the spring. I do hope to have Rob Weatherby's dyno again at Cobra Revolution III in June, but I'd be up for a dedicated dyno day in the spring. What better way to dust off our cars after a long winter?? Not to mention he's right in my backyard.

So what's your vote on time?

Steve
