August Breakfast-The season BIGGIE!!!!
Seems the thread that this was originally posted on has vanished along with the old server.
IE: Cobras on the Mountain
So here's the scoop:
- We have moved the gathering up the mountain to Schooley Mountain Park.
- Breakfast is from 9:30 to about 11:00 (we're flexible here.)
- Kathy and I are laying out a cruise that includes Waterloo Road to Shades of Death Road to Blairstown to Millbrookville (scroll halfway down the page) then back along the Delaware through Hackettstown and back to the park area. Cruise maps will be available at breakfast.
- Our pool will be open, so anybody that needs a dip in the pool after the cruise is welcome to join me for a dip and a .
- Plan on bringing a picnic lunch or snacks for a break at Millbrookville. There are restrooms.
- We have reserved the right side of the picnic pavillion. There is room for about 100 people (That's a lot of bagels! )
- Egg casserole, bagels, juice and coffee on us. (Ask last year's attendees about Kathy's egg casserole!)
Directions form US 46 west from I-80 exit 20 something area:
- West on 46 past Village Green Shopping Center, past Budd Lake, and up hill past the new car dealers - get in left lane.
- At light after car dealers make a left. There will be an Exxon station on your left plus a new PNC Bank and a new looking shopping strip with an A&P. (If sitting at the light, the road to the left is called Naughright Road. The road to the right is called Sand Shore Road - go figure. Also note, you may have seen Sand Shore Rd before you got to the lake - yes, it's the same road but NOT recommended in a Cobra )
- Now that you've made the left at the light onto Naughright Rd., proceed several miles through the countryside (you're actually on part of the cruise route.) You will pass our new elementary school on the left. Eventually you will cross Flocktown Road then some newer big houses on the left also. (Why is everything on the left!?)
- When you reach the end of the new, big houses, look for East Springtown Road. Turn right onto E. Springtown.
- The park entrance is less than a mile on E. Springtown Rd. on the left (of course.)
- We're all the way in the back on the right in Pavillion "A".
By the way, if it rains we're still having breakfast since the pavillion is covered. But of course, it won't rain.
