Lime Rock -- Sunday Sept. 3rd
Any New Jersey area Cobras going to Lime Rock for the Sunday Vintage Race show?
I am heading up from Bergen County and probably taking the following route, but up to other suggestions.
rt 287 to Harriman State Park to the Bear Mountain Bridge. Up 9D to route 303 to the Taconic Parkway. Exit the Taconic Parkway onto a state road that connects up with rt 22 into Lime Rock Raceway.
Took this route last year and it was a great ride. Took approximately 2 hours 15 minutes (with one stop).
Bill -- Your car has not sold yet. This is a great ride!

Jamie,
My son and I will be leaving Mahwah about 6am to meet a group from Long Island at the Putnam Diner in Patterson, NY. It's a fun drive from there with about 15+ cobra's. You are more than welcome to join.

Jeff,
Can you send me an email with some contact info. jameswheaton@citigroup.com or PM me.
Where are you in Mahwah? I am either 15 minutes or 30 minutes depending where you are. Do you get onto 87 via rt 17 or up Airmont Road?

Hey,
I'm thinking about making the trip up this year.
Probably not going to be feasible for me to meet up with both of you at the Mason Jar at 6:15 am I'm up in Sussex County.
Maybe we could meet up on the Taconic?? I don't really know that neck of the woods, so I would have no idea on a meeting place.
Worst comes to worst, I would definitely like to meet up at the event itself.
Jamie, I would imagine you would be somewhere in the vicinity of the ERA display???
Let me know. Thanks.
Chris

Jeff,
6:15 sounds good. Gives me a few more minutes of sleep.
Chris,
Where have you been all summer?
I will probably take the Taconic route back from Lime Rock and follow Jeff to the Diner. I am going to guess that he is going to go Tappan Zee, Saw Mill pkwy to 684 to 22.
You could be at the Mason Jar from where you are in 45 minutes.
I will be able to find me drooling over the GT40 that I am hoping ERA brings.

ERA says they are bringing both a GT40 coupe and roadster, as well as the Cobras.

Looking forward to it. You are right about the route up, it seems to be the shortest way. We didn't plan to follow the group on they way back so the Taconic route sounds like a nice ride.
See you at 6:15

Jamie;
The weather looks questionable at best. I'll keep an eye on the forecast to see if things improve for the morning and make a call as late as possible. I'm not sure what the group from from Long Island will do, but they said they would make a decision at Nick's today.
Jeff
By the way, is your Cobra red? if so I might have passed you Thursday night in Midland Park while you were filling up about 7pm.

Sussex County, NJ Cruise???????
I think Sunday will be a wash out.
How about a cruise up around my neck of the woods on Monday assuming everything is dried out??????
The more the merrier!!
What do you think???

Hey Jeff,
Yeah - that was me filling the car up on Thursday in case it rained all day Friday and Saturday. Been 3 weeks since I have had the car out. Last time was my drive back from Vermont.
I just checked the web and it has rain ending tomorrow morning around 6:00 am.
Not sure which forecast to believe at the moment.
Let check in later today. I am thinking that leaving at 7:30 might give the highways a chance to dry up if that the 6:00 am is correct. Not sure what the LI group is going to do. There weather will be differenet from ours at the outset.

Hey Jamie;
Lets keep an eye on the weather, I agree a later start may be the answer. If the Long Island guys back out then there is no reason to start that early. In any case the weather will dictate our decision.

Mr Shepard, looking forward to getting together this Sunday. Just for clarification the Long Islalnd group does not back out, back down ,back up or detour for that matter, from any event . Our Sargent of Arms ( His name is "Harvey" ) does not permit slackers of any type in the club. He enforces the code of conduct with the ruthlessness of a Southern chain gang warden. I once saw him ***** slap a member who missed a run because of his daughters wedding. We will be there if we have to put oars on the *****es. We also may not come if the humidity gets to high the wives don't like frizzy hair.
Hope to see you their, Time will tell!

Crapppppp
Jeff,
Checking out the weather and looks to be wet up at limerock up to about 11 - 12 tomorrow.
Looking more doubtful. I am going to be heading out to a party (actually up in your neck of the woods) and will be back around midnight.
Post up a message on your thoughts.
