Default Side Vent Question

Mike: Is the side vent on the replica in the period correct position? It seems a little far back. Thanks for the help.

Hi SS,
The vent position is correct for the size of the fender flare. We have compared the placement in side-by-side photos with a Contemporary Cobra, which uses the same size front flare, and the placement is identical. Originals have a slightly smaller front flare moving the vent forward slightly. I have found that our blue with yellow striped display car gives the allusion of making the vent look smaller because we used mesh and not the aluminum fins. This will make it look further back as well. I have attached a picture of one of our cars with the regular vents so you can compare.

Mike can you post a pic of the side vents using 'mesh'? I'd like to see how that looks.

Sure. We decided to do something different with our EVO 5 display car and I thought we would try electroplated mesh (V-Series Caddy style). It's not original, but looks very trick in person.

Whoa! I like the front, but prefer gills on the side. Thanks for that up-date.
