I kept mine in the living room until the new garage was finished. Peter at ERA got a big kick out of that! I had to send him pictures.

Kevin, how big is your living room?

So tell 'em to live with it
Sorry couldn't resist. So do you have a garage? if so park the daily driver in the street, or do you live in a Condo type unit w/open covered parking for one car? Lived in one of them for a time what a B!$@^, ASSoc. Board and all--sheesh--no joy!--I'm on the opposite coast so I'm no help, but good luck.
Got a good friend w/ a 2-car garage?

Bulld0g,

No need to get offended. This is NOT yahoo. We answer lots of questions here, and poke a bit of fun at each other...

But I don't think any of us have heard anything quite like this before.

There was an FFR built in Berkely (go figure!) by some guy who did the whole build inside the shipping container. Go over to www.ffcobra.com and ask this question.

Good luck.

Ok I live in Herndon in a townhouse We've had two cars stolen one from the house and one from where I worked in D.C. we have two parking spot's that we can park in both outside I've found storage but it's $291.00 a month I'll pay but I think that's a little steep I was looking for other options

Keep looking. You might find someone that will rent garage space for much less, especially if they can sometimes go in rides in the Cobra.

I have Total Performance in MI do work on my Cobra. In the winter time they like to stay busy. They like to have the cars availabe so that they can work on them in slack periods. If you are going to have some work done over the winter, they will rent storage space (covered, heated, and locked) for about $30 per month. Some mechanic or speed shop with storage space may be willing to store your car for less than your current price for storage provided you will have them do some needed work on the car.

The enclosed trailer idea may not be farfetched. You might be able to buy an enclosed trailer and park it in a protected open storage yard for less money per month than your current price. To recover some of your cost, you might be able to rent the trailer when you are not using it for storage. Many car owners have need for trailering their cars.

I note that your town is close to Dulles Airport. I assume that shipping, trucking, and related companies are nearby. They sometimes have unused trailers or warehouse space. You might be able to park your car in an unused trailer, some warehouse space, etc. Be creative.

Other owners of classic cars, hot rods, etc. also may need space. If you find more space than you need, you may be able to sublet. Under the right circumstances, you might actually be able to make money provided you are willing to get in the sub-let space business.

Whatever you decide to sdo, the best long-term solution may be to get a house or condo with your own enclosed garage, preferably heated. I have fiinally gotten planning board approval to add a secong level onto the back of my house. I will be building over my one car garage. In the process, I will get a garage with a 11 foot 10 inch ceiling. This is high enough for a lift and storing my Cobra with its hardtop installed and an SUV underneath (i.e., a 2 car garage). The garage will have heating and cooling.

Good luck.
