Default 351 w Initial Setup Help

Hi all

I am about ready to push the button on a set of4 x 48 IDA for my 351 W

and was looking for some help on initial settings Emulsion Tubes and jets

The Motor is 351 Windsor Stroked to 383 Good rods cam starts at 3.5k goes to 6 ish Good ol Toploader mainly street use

Currently has Quadrajet 4bbl
I am in Aus so its hot and dry

Hope this is enough to start with

Hi

cam specs are something i do not know

Compression is at last test works to be about 10:1

Ok Trev, as Rick has said, cam specs are important to know.

I'll have a stab at a baseline for you.

40-41 venturi
160 main
F7 emulsion tube
180 air
65 idle F10 holder
50-55 pump jet
35 pump bleed

What linkage set up are you running? Once you get the girls flowing fuel properly you'll need to have a decently designed linkage. Some of the parts that are supplied with some of the kits are junk & will never run correctly. I messed with mine for quite a while before I realized this.

Hi there!

I'm another poor sod looking for help. I have the 350 chevy with four weber 40 DCOE carbs. There is a flat spot between 1500 and 2000 rpm. The engine splutters and is a bog when just cruising but goes well when you have the foot flat. the exhaust fumes are rich and you can still smell the gas>

any advice on this?
