Webers - Which fuel pressure regulator?
I'm looking for a return style fuel pressure regulator that will allow adjustment below 3 psi and am coming up empty.
What are you guys running?
Thanks!
John

Why a regulator under 3 lbs.? I've run a return system with Webers set at 4 lbs. and didn't have a problem.

Jim Inglese put a Holley 0-3 psi regulator on my 48 IDA's. It is set at 2.5 psi
and no return line. The heat issue on my FE was not enough advance on the timing. He set it up at 38 deg. full advance. Runs really great.

John,
How about a Mallory 4309? I run one on my car.
You could have the reg referenced to manifold vacuum.
15 inches of idle vacuum with the reg at 2psi, would give you 9-10 psi at WOT.
Or you could replace the spring with a softer rate and get 2-8ish psi instead of 3-12 psi (Mallory factory spec).

I've seen guys running below 3 lbs so I figured there were regulators that would do that.
Lemans, I have that Holley regulator but wanted to run a return line back to the tank but that one is a dead head style.
Thanks for the tips on Aeromotive and Mallory.

I run 2 ½ lbs of fuel pressure as recommended by Jim Inglese as well. The low pressure Holley regulator can be had in chrome from Comp Cams-Inglese.
Cheers,

Thanks Snakebit. I can't tell exactly how you have that plumbed from the photo. Can you describe how your have the lines routed?
TIA,
John

Kinsler will make you a preset bypass regulator at what ever pressure you want. They are some of the best at IR induction. That is the way to go. You need to be under 3 psi or your asking for trouble. I have had webers on many cars over the years and that has always served me well.
Good luck

Agree with Dean.......I've had 3 cars with webers and all ran at 2.5 fuel pressure with no issues.

I like the bypass regulator because you can run the fuel line around all of the carbs then through the regulator, then back to the tank. There is always a ton of fuel flowing past the carbs. A 3/8 line can feed big hp with this set up.
