I am seriously researching the issue of putting webers on my 289. I see that there are two different small block weber manifolds; one with two water inlets and the Cobra cross tube and the other with the stock water hookup and thermostat. What is the difference between the two and which one should I use for a 1965 Shelby GT350? Thanks!
A Weber owner I have spoken to is using the Cobra cross tube type. He tried to use one of the "in hose" thermostats, without success, it blew the hose apart. So he just is running it without the thermostat. I'd go for the other manifold.

Isn't the cross tube type essentially a racing part since it doesn't have a thermostat provision? I guess the question is whether accuracy and streetability are important. I'd go with the one that has a thermostat housing.
I see you are in Eustis. Drop me a line and swing by the house. I am in NW Apopka near Ponkan and Plymouth-Sorrento Rd. I am getting ready to install Webers on my car (within the next 2 weeks).
I'm using the Blue Thunder manifold, as mentioned above. It's a good basic manifold, nothing wrong with it. The fit and quality is good.
I had to do some significant porting to get it to match my heads and throttle bodies. There's plenty of material there to get them to match pretty much anything you're using on a 289/302. There are no provisions for throttle linkage or vacuum ports.
However, if I were to do this again, I'd get the manifold from Wayne Presley, www.verycoolparts.com. Provisions for center throttle linkage, and cast in vacuum ports. Definatly a nice piece.

The two outlet manifold is much sexier. I put an inline thermostat adapter from Wilson Maniolds on mine & it hasn't blown apart. Doubt it will, it's well made. If your gonna spend the big bucks, don't go cheap on the little parts
