Default Hood clearance with Webers

Hello All,

I have installed 3/4 inch spacers under the webers for better cooling. I have been running the short stacks. I would like to know if you guys that have used the spacers under the carb if you ran into a problem with the hood closing.

I am noticing that my front two stacks are hitting the lower portion of the hood scoop. If I cut the hood inside the scoop it will clear the hood.

Have you guys run into this problem?

Also,

Would someone please measure the inlet of the scoop fron the tip of the top scoop to the bottom section of where it enters the engine bay.

Default I think that you can go with only 3/8" max

Proibe With most cobras and stack setups, 3/8- 1/2" is max. You may have an air problem with flow and the stacks being too close to the hood. What you really need to do is get 2 small bildge fans from the boating world and install them on each side of the engine compartment and have them suck out the hot air through the side air vents. Just a thought. Rick L. The fans and relays with switches are about $90.00 if you shop hard. get the 4" ones. They flow 280 cfm per fan, that will move the air. This is the same ones Nascar uses. They are water proof and heat proof.
