Default Camshaft recommendation/48 IDF's/347

I am in the process of building a new motor and was hoping someone with weber knowledge could recommend a good street performance/hydraulic cam for this motor. A lot of local street cruising with the occasional highway blast.

This is a 347 stroker, 48 IDF webers, 10-1 compression, Edelbrock performer RPM heads, 4 speed car and 3.80 rear gears.

This is the specs on the current cam, let me know your feelings on this one. Thanks in advance for any help, Carl.

Cam Style: Hydraulic flat tappet
Basic Operating RPM Range: 1,500-4,000
Intake Duration at 050 inch Lift: 204
Exhaust Duration at 050 inch Lift: 214
Duration at 050 inch Lift: 204 int./214 exh.
Advertised Intake Duration: 262
Advertised Exhaust Duration: 272
Advertised Duration: 262 int./272 exh.
Intake Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.448 in.
Exhaust Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.472 in.
Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.448 int./0.472 exh. lift
Lobe Separation (degrees): 112

Carl,

Your current cam is a baby, my experience with Webers, IDFs and DCOEs says to up the cam to 230-240 @.050 for your 347, just keep the LCA in the 112-116 zone.

Your 1500-4000 is a low speed cam , why not get into the 2500-6000 bracket, you'll love it.

GAZ64 Is right on with the cam Duration....good advice.

You'll be turning about 3200 @ 60mph with a 26" rear tire. With a 347 you could drop the gear to around 3.50 and still be REAL happy.
