Default Are we there yet?

Duane, how close are we to getting the 150 cars registered before the 15th?

Duane,

I just checked with Tom Lucas,, and he said he still has a spot reserved for me.

Let me know if you need anything else. Anxious

Maurice,
10-4. Got it. Thanks, FE it is!

Cali,

Good question. Getting closer. Counting all attendees, vendor cars, and subtracting a few emergencies that came up that I had not pulled out yet from last February, we are close but not there yet. What I thought was needing +13 more on the last update was actually needing +23 more, not +13and since then we've probably had 10 more come in and 5 more emails in the last few days.

Over the last two days its been picking up again with people sending emails saying they 'just mailed" theirs and more phone calls on my cell phone calls and messages from people who don't use the internet wanting to know how to register. Currently, I am projecting 140 cars total unless we get another last minute flurry like we did last year. Dealers are starting to contact us now with new customers wanting to jump in last minute too.

On a related note, I'm gonna get you all your Port Republic shirts even if i pay a little extra for it out of my pocket to get them there. Its a done deal as far as I'm concerned, and probably ordering around 200 attendee shirts come April 14th. 140+ attendee shirts and the remaining will be for sale for around $20 if people want extras for passengers. They will be first come first serve, and I don't expect the extras to last since the shirts alone retail cost about $24 without a logo.

You got it Ron.

And, yes, I agree, a bunch of unhappy big guys would not be fun for anyone.

Duane,

Is there any possibilty we could have a car wash spot set up? Just somewhere with a couple of hoses. After driving through the rain to get there last year, it would have been really nice (and easier on the paint) to be able to do a soap and water wash rather than just a squirt bottle and towel wash.

Chris,
I'll check and see what the hotel will offer. Also, there are about 20 car washes in that area, and 9 of them are close to the hotel within a mile/two. Here are just a few. I also included the link to the map if you want a link to print. Hit the Zoom(+) button to see just how close. Victorian Square is where we'll be, and you can tell there are several of them blocks in any direction. Each guy could do a mild wand spray, hit the wheels, and pass it to the next car... I just need to check the next time I go up there.

Duane:
Which one of the above are YOU running YOURS through?

The hose with soap & water sounds pretty harmless?????????

Maybe we could have a wet T-Shirt contest and the proceeds would pay for the hose and soap!

At many of the Harley runs I attend during the summer they have a bikini bike wash that's always alot of fun, but this would also provides the opportunity to have a picture taken of a nice girl with a beautiful car.......Just good "clean" fun.
