WSCB 2006 - Track Day Announcements
Hi Folks,
I wanted to make some general announcements as we begin to plan out our schedule for the WSCB-Track Day!!! In order to maximize our time at the track on Friday, we will be doing tech inspection at the Nugget Garage Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm for as many folks as possible. If you can’t make that time, we will inspect your car Friday morning at the track upon arrival. There will be two or three of us doing tech. 50 or so cars will take some time and I want to make sure we have time to look at each one. We will be referring to the check list included with your Track Day Registration forms but here are some basic things you can check before you arrive: Vehicle Body – all panels and latches attached and operational. Suspension- Steering, Tires and Wheels Inspected, safety wire if applicable. Roll Bar- Make sure you have a roll bar (cobras) and that it is properly mounted to the chassis. Braking System - Inspected for wear and safe operation. Axles and CV joints – in good repair and properly fastened. Fuel System – functional and w/o leaks. Electrical System – Battery secured and no loose or exposed wires. Exhaust System – functional and securely fastened. Cooling System – system full and free of leaks and Anti-Freeze ( typically anti-freeze is a big no-no on the track. If you get busted for having anti-freeze, you may not be allowed on the track. I would recommend running distilled water and Water Wetter just to be safe.) Belts, Hoses & Filters - in good repair. Misc. Fluids – Inspected and filled to recommended levels. Seats and Seat Belts - proper type and securely fastened. Steering Wheel - securely mounted. Mirrors- securely mounted. ‘In-car’ devices - properly mounted. (no hand held cameras allowed in vehicles) Loose Items- Removed from Vehicle trunk and passenger compartments. Engine and Engine Bay - inspected for fluids, leaks, and to ensure that all fasteners are tight. Helmet(s)- not damaged and of required safety/agency rating. Help us make this a safe event by having gone through this check list, and the one on your registration print-out, and make sure everything is in good working order. Again, we want to get tech inspection out of the way on Thursday so I’m hoping you all can make it, even if I have to crawl around your car with a flashlight! Thanks, John |

Looking Good!
Hi Folks,
I think we have figured out the car number issue. All cars will be required to have a number, at least on each door. We have a few options: 1. Some of you already have meatballs & numbers. Those will be fine but I would like to know what numbers you guys are using. 2. Bob at Operations Plus will make us a special group deal on some nice white meatballs and black numbers if we can get a big enough quantity. These are the “static cling” type which are easy to put on and take off, they don’t peel off at speed, and look great. We are going to have several photographers at the track and everyone’s car will get photographed. If you want to be looking good, let me know. I am trying to get an order together for Bob while we have time. I will find out about the price and let you know. It will be very reasonable. 3. Use a low stick masking tape to make the numbers on your car. As far as assigning numbers, we will basically pick numbers from a hat based on how many drivers register and who already has a numbered car. So, let me know. Talk soon, John |
John,
I ordered my meatballs the other day. I have #38. Also you mentioned the water wetter. I did some checking on that stuff and it was interesting how it works. I also email them about replaceing my coolant and water with new water and the water wetter and just leaving it in. They said it works just like antifreeze in alot of the areas like corrosion and electrolysis ect. Do any of you have any experience with running this all the time. Scott Beall |
Scott,
The WW will give better heat transfer and help cool your motor. The track will allow it, in our case. Use destilled water and one small bottle of WW. Should do the trick. As long as your car is not subject to freezing temps, you're ok. You can run this year round. Good, Bob will try to keep track of numbers as they get ordered so there should'nt be any duplicates. Duane should be sending out an official announcement about the meatballs soon. Glad you got yours ordered. Thanks, John |
John # 56
Thanks Tim |
Terry Brown #58 In hand.

I have been running water wetter from day in my car with no issues 5k miles...
|
John,
Can you comment on what might be required as far as a radiator puke tank goes? I don't have a permanent puke tank but in the past when I've done the 1/4 mile thing, I've made a temporary puke tank out of a Gatorade bottle. The bottle gets secured to a permanent part using tie wraps. I drill a hole in the cap and then insert the radiator overflow hose. It seems to work well. See any problems with that? Chris |
Chris,
If your motor does not tend to over heat when you start to push it a little it may be ok. A puke tank can take pressure and retain the coolant. A Gatorade bottle and 1/4 mile is another story. You will not be pushing your car very hard on the track and as long as your engine stays cool, you may be ok. The thing is, if you do have a spill on the track you could put yourself and others at risk. Since we have plenty of time, I would recommend installing one. There are several that are nice looking and easy to install. And, absolutely no antifreeze. Talk soon, John ps, A puke tank is on my "things to do list" as well.:D |
May I retain number 36, please?

OK, got it. 35,36,211

#11?
I ordered #11 already, is that ok?
|
I would like a set.
How about number 15 Steve |
backing up a little
I would like 98 if its not already taken Steve |
I'll change out the anti-freeze prior to coming to the Nugget and put water and WW. All the other stuff has been done. I'll take #187 if no one else has it...let me know how much the meatballs cost and I'll send you a check.
Thanks Tom Mareina |
Guys,
Call Bob at Operations Plus and order your meatballs directly with him. Tell him you want the “western states cobra bash deal”. He is working off a number list of what is available and what is taken. This is best done at the time you place your order so you can decide there and then on your number. PH. 714-962-2776 http://www.cobracountry.com/opsplus/ Thanks, John |
Right on Tom. Now call Bob....They're cheap!
John:) |
Hi Steve,
The original #98 Fliptop ("The Turd") car already has claim on that number. Sorry. I think John had that taken in the original list already. |
Operations Plus
Bob is out of the office until 4/4/2006 (tues). I called and left a message requesting #28, followed up by an email.
