Carroll Shelby Logo AFR205
I am planning on adding AFR 205's anyway, thought these might dress it up a bit. Shelby uses there own springs. Anyone see a problem (other than being $150 bucks more) with these vs. buying from AFR direct? http://www.shelbyengines.com/Windsor-Engines.html

Jim,
Too late for me.....my engine is going to Clayton's in a couple of weeks for the AFR225s and a strong performing roller cam. Corey says it'll be 580-605 HP when I get it back.

580 - 600 hp
Wow, Pete - that's sweet! It was just a thought since I know you were doing the work. Can't wait to see you at Byron in the spring running 10's!

The Shelby was more expensive
Jerry,
I think I may not have communicated it properly. They Shelby was $150 more - you dont need to match that. If I want the look, I can order them and have you install them. Shelby uses their own springs, I am a bit concerned about that. AFR has two articles on their website discussing the Ford Motorsports crate 392. One discusses the best cam and carburator cominations, and one discusses the springs tension inside the heads and how important it is to get it exactly right. Take a look at them and let me know what you think of both of the articles. They are saying the engine will but out 535hp with the right combination without getting valve float and a t a reasonable RPM.
Thanks,
Jim

I meant that I would sign the heads for you for the same price Carroll gets
And yes, the quality and proper application spring combos are very important

Jim,
I'll sign them for you, too. (I was famous in my youth)

Jerry/Pete,
If you can do a good "Carroll Shelby" could save me some money. Jerry - let's grab breakfast one of these days to discuss all this. I also want to tell me what you think of the articles and if you think we should stick with what they did or do something more/better. Thanks.

Shelby's sig is everywhere and can be bought by anyone for a price---
Mine is pretty rare and only goes with model kits or photos and sometimes an occasional engine
Breakfast sounds good, sometime next week?
