New Cobra owner in Brookfield, IL
Ralph/Redsnake suggested I repost my intro here, so here goes:
Hello!
I just picked up a Superformance Cobra (#253) a couple of weeks ago. The Cobra has been a dream car for me for years and the reality is even better!
We've been working on the engine, but took her out for her second drive Memorial weekend. Met Darryl and Carol in their gorgeous FF at Plush Horse Ice Cream Saturday night.
I'm hoping to make it to as many events as possible this summer, although it looks like London isn't an option this year as we'll be at a track day at Blackhawk Farm that weekend.

Welcome Kate! I was in Brookfield YESTERDAY with my own FFR roadster! (I actually graduated from RBHS many moons ago) You're gonna have to get together with the WCCC one way or another. It's a great group of people.

Kate: Glad to meet you at the monthly get together. You might consider an event of solo racing (cone bashing) I am trying to organize in early August. I will post more info soon.

old thread back to the top.
I just noticed you (renlady) are located in Brookfield. I'm in LaGrange Park and just took my car for its first drive last weekend.
I also noticed Sten commented in this thread as well. Sten and I have been trying to meet up for awhile now (actually I kept delaying him trying to finish the car).
Maybe all of us can meet up soon. Sten has family in Brookfield and I'm a block from the Brookfield city limit. (I also just thought of Dave C in LaGrange. Great guy with a recently finished FFR. MAybe he could meet as well.)
Thanks
Craig

Craig,
I pass through Brookfield every day on my way to work. My FFR is waiting for a new set of front shocks since I broke one Friday, but I should have it back on the road this weekend. Anyway, it would be great to meet some people a bit closer to the city.

I'd love to get together so close to home!!
There's a great little restaurant near the Hollywood Metra Station and Hollywood Motors. There's lots of good parking, especially on the weekend or after 6. It's called MYOB and is run by a couple of great people (the cook is a car guy and would love to see all the cars). Not open for early breakfast, but they are open most days from 11 to 9.
Of course, we'll have to plan quickly for the summer (at least for weekends), before my Renaissance Festival schedule is set.
