Default Autobahn Country Club track

Just joined WCCC a short time ago after buying an SPF in August, so I’m kinda new at this. Been quite busy with work so haven’t been to any WCCC events. Hope to get out more often next spring.
I was wondering if anyone has had any involvement with Autobahn Country Club in Joliet. A buddy of mine I work with has been talking to me about checking it out – sounds like fun, and he gave me a video from a program called Hooked on Driving that I haven’t watched yet. They have event days where they have the track. For @$300 you get to drive the track along with other drivers. Not a race, but you get to open it up on a 3 ½ mile course. Great, no radar detectors needed!
I think I want to do this, but I was just wondering if anyone else has input.

I ran Autobahn last October - full circuit, great fun. I booked time through LAPS, and the best part was the instructor was a regional SCCA champ with a FFR spec racer. Learned a ton about driving these cars at speed on a road circuit. Also ran at Gingerman this summer - equally a lot of fun, you have to drive further to get to track but price is less. My goal next year is Road America. Good luck with the car and driving experiences. I believe there are no more dates this year at Autobahn - let me know if I am wrong.

Check out the SCCA Chicage site for some chances to run autocross or Blackhawk Farms course this year in the link below. Tim and I have done the autocross and it is a lot of fun.

First of all congrats on your cobra purchase! I ran at Autobahn last month with www.nasamidwest.com.

MVP ( http://www.mvptracktime.com/ ) and Midwestern Council ( http://www.mcscc.org/ ) are all good organization to run with also. If you volunteer you can earn free track time too.

A few of us will be going to 24hrs of Lemons on Oct 23rd! Feel free to join us! http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/rodb2010.aspx

We have a cobra buddy running a car in the event. Should be fun. If you want to do any other track events just post and I'm sure you will get someone to respond.

Hey Tim! I ran at Gingerman also! Going to Putnam this weekend and Rich S. is coming along also.
Haven't talked to you in a while. We got to catch up.
