Default September 4 - Volo Shelby Show Rescheduled

WCCC Members,
Just a topic for some member discussion…(It’s been real quiet here lately)
The 2011 Volo Mustang & Cobra event is once again scheduled on the same day as our 2011 WCCC Club Picnic. A few people have commented to me at our recent club gatherings that they enjoyed the Volo event in the past and were interested in next years Volo event.
Volo has always been a nice day out with the cars for everyone (including many of the ladies too) – lawn chairs, sitting in the shade and having a nice social gathering for club members… I believe Sid actually washes his car for this event too….maybe not? ----Anyway….
I know that Buddy and Barb have put a LOT of time & effort into the WCCC club picnics the last few years; and their house is an ideal location for the club event - with the great parking, the air-conditioned garages, the expert grilling, the list goes on and on…Surely the 2011 picnic will be no different…
*
All that being said….And just to say I “attempted’ to promote the Volo event within the rank and file of the WCCC….I’m soliciting comments and suggestions regarding the possibility of and interest in re-dating the WCCC club picnic – which may also require relocating it if Buddy and Barb cannot change their date for any reason…(yes, I know we pre-approved the date for the 2011 club picnic at our club picnic in 2010)
Please try to keep “on-topic” here with the interest in attending the Volo event and moving the club picnic date…
The quality/cost of the food at Volo, and displayers fee’s are beyond our control …and won’t be changed. I’m sure everyone wants Steve M. to maximize their donation to the Marine’s Toys-for-Tots charity….
BTW: Steve M. does a great job with this event every year – lots of his time and money is poured into this show – Maybe there should be some “donation only” information posted for this charity event - with 100% of these extra donations given directly to the Marine’s Toys-for-Tots charity ….Probably sent to Steve directly….he's a straight shooting guy...

Gee Jerry, Considering the fact that you don't have a running Cobra to display at the Volo event and the fact that you are a Chevy guy to begin with ...It's hard to believe you don't enjoy yourself at this charitable event...And the question really was: ...the possiblity of...or interest in... rescheduling the club picnic date so people can attend Volo...not canceling the picnic…

I guess I better clarify this----I think the picnic on that date is more important to me than the Volo show on that date is-----

a Chevy guy to begin with?????? My wife drives a Chev Trailblazer and I believe that it is American made!!!!My FORD truck????has an International Harvester engine----
I am a dyed in the wool Ford fanitic and my experience with them goes way back--if you need to get some info on any of the Ford engines you might want to give me a try

My Cobra replica won't be a show car and be taken around to car shows, charitable or not---It might not even be licensed for street use--and quite possibly it will be done by then--if it is I'll take it to the picnic, maybe even to the SEMA or PRI shows

But please enjoy whichever event ( or both ) you desire to attend---if it ain't cloudy

Jerry

I would also like to attend both however I can't be at two places at the same time.

I would have to pick the picnic

Default Volo Cobra Show Date Changed

Volo changed the date to Sunday August 7th since the picnic is the 6th.

Yes, I will make an announcement regarding The 2011 Volo show at our upcoming gathering on January 30. (with an email to follow-up) And the date is the actually the 7th not the 6th as the Volo calendar reflected earlier today...So set the day aside...

I might have missed it, but I didn't see any detail on "displayers fees". Any idea what they might be?

I believe this was covered in the email message sent. The entry fee is $20 per car with 2 people. A portion of the $$$'s goes to the Toys-4-Tots Charity...We need to get an idea of how many cars will attend to reserve front parking spaces...So everyone please reply either way or you'll keep getting the email every week...so far only 3 people have replied to my 1st email...(150 hits with 3 email replies)
