Cool June 18 - Hope to find some Cobra's for a photoshoot in Schaumburg

Greetings CC enthusiast,

I was directed here by one of your members. I am a pin up photographer in the chicago area and we're looking to do a car shoot in Schaumburg IL.

We don't need many cars, the most, only two.

I'm currently securing a location to hold this at. Right now i'm shooting for the Zenith Towers off of Meachum. The top of their parking lot as the towers right behind and i feel is a great location.

I have this slated for June 18th which is a Saturday from 1 - 4pm. So far I've got 9 models who want to do this shoot.

The purpose is mainly to expand on my portfolio and to appease our fans who've been asking me to do photos with beautiful cars and ladies.

If you are interested, please let me know and if you can either post an image of your vehicle on this thread, or you can email it to me. I would appreciate it.

my email is:
riverwalk.productions@yahoo.com

Thanks to all who is considering this event. You can find our fan page here on facebook:

Thanks all, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Joe

You need to get ahold of Mark Procter and Bullet Bob Brown----They have 2 cars that
pretty much represent the ultima of the replica business. Marks car is a polished aluminum (might be a problem with glare if bright sunny day) with is no doubt the peak of the cars that are rolling packages and has a all alum bigblock installed. Bob's car is a very impressive(many time trophy winner at shows) BLUE Shell Valley car that represents the depth that the Cobra crowd sometimes go thru to reach there goal. From a kit that was purchased from an individual without proper state title or manufacturers origin and the ensueing paper work, thru a build up/upgrade to higher performance levels, icluding better brakes, shocks, wheel/tire combo, rear axle , transmission and outstanding paint job that will make you drool even without one of your ladies lying across the hood--it also has an empressive engine bay that is highly detailed and approviate for these cars---Neither of these are RACE cars but both are certainly high powered street cars.
Also, I can volunteer my services to assist you with the cars as I have done this many times at auto shoots for dozens of publications, manufacturers and expo organizers.
Further ideas---I can probably arrange a new Corvette and a NICKEY (backwards K) limited edition Camaro in your choice of color.
You can PM me if you wish any assistance in either helping you at the shoot or just laison between you and the cars.

Thanks both of you,

I was recently contacted by two of your members, a Mr. John Spina and Mr. Salinas.

I am in the midst of communicating with them, but could always use help as well. I'll send a pm to you shortly Jerry.

Many thanks to all who have considered this. it's still a ways off, but I'm a planner and I hate to do things last minute.

Thanks again.

Mr Spina and Mr Salinas!! You mean Mr White and Mr Black, what you need is a true Blue Cobra, everyone knows this is the only color for a Cobra shoot. I'm sure the ladies would look mighty fine across the hood of a Blue Cobra.

June 18th, ? That's my 34th wedding anniversary day! What a better way to spend it, but with 9 lovely laddies draped across the Cobra, (don't let my wife see this one). This could be the start of our New Club Calander. Fred

Cobra Calendar eh?

Problem with that, is we would need 12 cars! LOL. not sure how long I could get with each.

I wantd to update everyone breifly. so I made a mistake, I kept saying "Zenith Towers" in Schaumburg when it's really "Zurich Towers". I tried calling them to discuss this shoot, but I was unsuccessful. So I'm planning on physically going there this week to see if there is some sort of parking authority and what is the final say on a shoot there. personally I think it would just friggin' rock being at this parking lot. Especially on a saturday where everyone would be at the mall or some other venue, and we would have the entire parking lot to ourselves.

i've received some private messages and other people asking if they can be a part of this. If you wish, please email me an image of your car and your contact information.

That way I can put your car images into a photo album i'm creating on my FB studio site. It was created so that our the ladies can see your car and get more excited about attending the event. So far, there is a lot of buzz happening with this shoot.

I've got a few other places in mind that I may visit if Zenith Tower doesn't pan out. There's tons of picturesque locations in Schaumburg and I'm hoping to nail down a spot in the next two weeks.

In the interim, i'm also getting ready to get married (May 21st) so if you don't hear from me in a couple of days or so, that's why! We just finished Pre-cana and now placing the last detaisl (i.e. Bacherlor/ette parties, Suits, and decorations).

So please bear with me these next few weeks.

Thanks everyone so very much for coming together and assisting me in this, I am floored at the participation and willingness from everyone, i honestly didn't expect this

@ Fred - My lips are sealed man. Your wife will not hear it from me. Albeit, i can't speak for the other Cobra guys! LOL

Thanks,
-Riv

Greetings group,

Many thanks, i can't tell you how much I appreciate the enhusiasm this is bringing.

So it was brought to my attention that in-fact many of you are considering a Cobra Calendar.

Well, if you are serious then we need to do a couple of changes.

1. We need to secure at least 12 cars for the shoot. Ladies are no problem, but i'm not sure if we can get 12 Cobras or other cars to be a part of this calendar.

2. instead of trying to fit everyone on ONE date, I would be willing to split this into two dates.

3. I could/would work on the photos and prep them for print. I was also thinking. To create buzz and attention, perhaps get my fans involved and have them "VOTE" on the image they like best for a certain month.

- For example. let's say we have 4 images of Fred's car for April (sorry Fred just gonna use you for a second). Well we would pose it to the fans of my studio and ask them to vote on which image they feel is the best image for the month of april. Each week would bring another car for another month. or each day, doesn't matter. Point is, the vote would generate buzz and possibly get some pre-orders for the calendar.

I spoke with Sid and he stated that all of us should meet up. I'm all for meeting and discussing this shoot and/or asking me questions about my style, what my ideas are, etc.. I have a few questions as well, but I was going to wait till a couple of weeks before the shoot.

btw, if Zurich towers doesn't work out, is there a possible alternate location you can suggest? Consider that the location should be somewhat secluded as people will want to congregate and watch. My concern would be both for the safety of your cars and for my ladies. hence why I picked Zurch towers to offer us that bit of privacy so as we're not disturbed during a shoot.

Beleive me, i've had my share of 'porn-zombies' walk right into my camera's view to talk to a girl and totally ruin a shoot. Even after i've explained that we were in the middle of the shoot.

It's funny when people say "What are you guys doing?" whilst your holding a camera that's as big as your head! LOL.

anyhoo, let me know your thoughts guys, and again, thanks so much.

-River

Group meeting, many of us are meeting in Rockford tomorrow. I suppose you could join us if you have the time and work out some details. Tilted Kilt Rockford at noon, if you are available????

Alternate locations, I would suggest an airport north of Belvidere with old gas station, old garage and bridge all in one location. Vintage Wing and Wheels is the name of the airport and it is small so would not be busy.

This link should take you to the photos of "Slims" garage and "Sun Oil Co." Gas Station.

Greetings everyone,

My apologies for not posting sooner. Lee, thanks for the invite however it was on such short notice that i knew I culdn't make it.

as for an alternate location Belvidere is quite a ways and most of the ladies are in the city, hence why Schaumburg seemed like a good location that was 'far enough'. and let's be honest, most models will be located either in or close to the city.

I wanted to propose that if any of you would like to meet up in the next two weeks i'd like to discuss this calendar further. I've talked to two of my models who would also like to attend so you can meet and greet with them.

Let me know your thoughts, perhaps we can meet in schaumburg or somehwere in that area.

Thanks,
-Riv

p.s. i know some of you have sent me your pictures and interest, THANK YOU! I apologize i've not responded but pleased know that i've received them, i've been quite swamped at the studio, work, and my wedding just around the corner.

I can not believe what I am reading....silver with black strips. What is with the blue or red thingie?

May I suggest a full set of cobras - 12 that way you can do a "hot car" and a "hot cobra"?

Just adding to the choir.
