I think the laws here require one, I've never displayed it. Most cops usually just give me a thumbs up.........despite it being louder than sh!t.

I have these brackets like Jims available. They fit SPF, CSX and CCX with a small mod so far. They work behind Quickjacks or over riders.

I am not sure just what is possible. I carry the front plate with me and have tried a dozen ideas of how to mount one of those that slide out from under and then stand up and then can be retracted to hide the plate under the car. But the Coupe with the lift front end makes that almost impossible.

I think you could make a horizontally mounted v-shaped bracket (with the apex at the headlight end) that runs from the bottom front of the headlight relief to the inner lip of the radiator opening. You would have to drill three holes, but they would not be noticeable and if the bracket were removed, you could get nice little rubber plugs for them.

Possible?

I don't know about other makes, but on my FFR coupe I mounted a retractor on the upper lip inside the radiator opening. I heard too many stories about CT local cops looking for a quick ticket. It was controlled by a dash switch. I usually left it down when driving and while it blocked some air flow to the radiator, it didn't seem to affect the coolant temp. On hot days idling in traffic I would retract it, but I don't think it was necessary as the puller fans were pulling plenty of air through the radiator. After my accident where the front clip was destroyed, I never replaced it.

Here in the Chicago area when they turn on the speed cameras and they do not see a front plate and they shoot the rear one and it is a Ill. plate you will get a ticket then also . Be aware they are looking for revenue and you are it. There will be alot of people installing front plates after they get a speeding ticket and no front plate ticket to boot in the mail . Yes big BROTHER is watching and looking for cash.

Thumbs up

As for wiring into system? All that is required is to wire the retractable holder to the + & - terms of the battery & let the key fob do the rest !

I copied this over from another thread. Don't ask me why I posted my reply for this over there...

... I have divined and fabricated a front license plate bracket for my Superformance. Sits in the opening up high, and swings back out of sight. Can be made to stay tucked away if desired.

I put some photos together and send them to you (Kate) so you can look it over and comment if you have any suggestions, then I can post the info here. I've racked my brain tryig to come up with something other than the turn signal mounted plate hanger. This design flips up and down out of sight. Not too many options here.
