Oct Snake and Eggs & Garage Crawl
This is the month to have the Oct. snake and eggs on a Sunday, Oct. 7th at Ken's Schaumburg Restaurant. The address is 1477 Schaumburg Rd, Schaumburg, IL.. Let's meet at 8:30 for S & E.
We also have a chance to do a garage crawl with Chris R. who is building a FFR Cobra and is at the go kart stage before the body goes on it. He is renting a hanger at Aurora Airport. I hope to be at the Airport between 10:30 and 11 the latest. Chris said we might be able to see some interesting airplanes there also.
The address is Aurora Municipal Airport
Veterans Memorial Parkway
43W636 US 30
Sugar Grove, IL 60554
He gave me a route to make the trip more interesting. So I will be there and leading the trip to see it in the go kart stage.
Let me know if you will attend the S & E so we can give the resturant a count of members.
Hope to see a big turn out. Chris any comments or additions to the Club???

Lee,
Thanks for posting this - I'm looking forward to meeting a bunch of the club members and getting feedback on my build. The airport is easy to locate - just about a mile west of Rt. 47 on Rt. 30 on the west side of Sugar Grove. My hangar is in "Skyhaven" on the far east side of the airport, so you guys can all enter the airport on the east access road, which is just a couple hundred feet west of the traffic light at Rt. 30 and Municipal Drive. Look for the tiny white ranch house where the road narrows from four to two lanes and turn in right there, then follow the perimeter fence all the way back to the gate. The gate is passcode access, but you can call my cell number when you arrive and I'll come over and let you in, then we can do the same thing for stragglers, so please make sure people have your number or mine.
PARKING UPDATE - PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASSY AREA IN FRONT OF THE PILOT'S LOUNGE. PARKING WILL BE AVAILABLE IN FRONT OF MY HANGAR AND IN THE SURROUNDING AREA. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE NOT TO BE IN THE WAY OF ANY AIRCRAFT.
Please pass along my cell number and e-mail to anyone who would like to get in touch with me.
Here's a picture of my next door neighbor's plane (it's a 1944 FM2 Wildcat that was stationed on the west coast during the war) as well as a friend's FFR with a Stearman that is around quite a bit. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and some of the guys will be out with their planes.

Depends on if we go on the fall tour with the Lotus Club. If not, will be there with bells on!

Just a quick "parking update." The hangar association management asked me to make sure that we don't have cars parked on the grassy area in front of the pilot's lounge or in a way that obstructs aircraft movement. She recommended that people park parallel in front of my hangar and between hangars (unless otherwise posted as no-parking zones). Depending on how many cars we have, I'll help get everyone situated when you each arrive. Thanks!

Guys,
I have a box of odds and ends from Bob M's garage that everyone who comes can pick thru. Also a few items to sell for Bob's family. It will be available after breakfast for picking thru in the parking lot so wear your woolies. More tomorrow.
