They have food? I think Cdog mentioned that they have a room that we can reserve there. We just got to make sure its only gonna be us in there!
GS
Called D&B. We are required to buy food; buffet style.
$200 bucks for the fully closed room plus the cost of food per person. ($13-$28) Or $50 per hour for there billard room plus the cost of food per person. I am assuming this is not where we are gonna have our meeting. For our first meeting I don't feel it is worth it.

Called hooters of Downers Grove and they have the 21st free. We will be the only ones in that room/area. But it is not enclosed. I have NOT put our name down yet. So if this is a go then tell me so i can set it up.

I like Hooter's.. Unfortunately, on weekends, the parking is real tight. And I know that people will not be wanting to park their snakes next to LTD's...
I spoke with McNally's Irish Pub in Elmhurst. They have an upstairs (private) area that we can use. Also, the 5/3 bank across the street has a large lot for cars, usually mostly empty on Sundays...This is just south of Route 83 on York Road.
I love Hooters, but I am concerned about overcrowding/no parking there. If its bad weather, that doesnt matter.

There is a lot of parking @ the hooters in Downers Grove - it shares a parking lot with an Olive Trough (Garden) and I believe a "Joes Crab Shack."
My email: ozona1@msn.com
I "gots" an idea for a meeting on the 25th of May.......

About the 21st
Great Lakes Dragway has Ford cabin fever day! A bunch of snakes would wake things up a bit don't you think?? Just a thought. Whatever, I'll try to make it.

My house is still open. Hooters in Downers Grove sounds good to me. (good food and good eye candy---usually!?!?) There should be plenty of room for parking, they have a large parking lot and have hosted many car shows there in the past.

Potential problem with Hooters-Downers Grove on the 21st. The lastest Auto Trader (Custom, Antique & Sportscar) calender of events lists that Hooters-Downers Grove is hosting a Car and Motorcycle Show from 9-4pm. Meeting before 4 pm might be a problem, meeting after 4pm should be ok? This has been a good car show in the past but there have never been any Cobras entered. WCCC cars would make a good addition to this show and the members could meet afterwards? It is $15 dollars to enter and $3 off coupons are available at doubleKproductions.com or (630)605-2122.
Rick.

Location?
Sorry I missed the last meeting, something came up at the last minute. I have the 21st open and I don't much care where the location is. My ride won't be ready for at least another year (although Gessfords is making good headway on the engine) so parking is not an issue for me.
In the meantime, I have been brushing up on my driving skills and attended a SCCA school at Route 66 Raceway in Joilet last weekend.
http://www.mtdesign.com/cobra/racing.html
It was a blast and well worth the $90! Although the weather stunk, it helped me pull a second place (first in class) finish. I can't wait to get the Cobra finished so we can all go play at these events across the country.
Do any of you guys attend SCCA events like this or track days at Blackhawk or Gingerman in your Cobra's?
See you on Sunday, Mark

Nice pics HemiSnake! It's good to hear from you too. Just my opinion...but Hooter's and a car show with a bunch of snakes crashing the party would be cool. (I want a cobra!)
The Hooter's chicas better look fine that day!
We can still reserve the room at 2pm or earlier. And enjoy the show too! I figure that you can get there early to check out the show or enter in the judging. At 2pm the rest of the guys show up. Meeting time. Then hangout or go home.
How does that sound?
GS?

No, I would like to hear back from more of the guys that came to Schaumburg. Most of them did say that if we pick a place they will show up.
Hey cdog how do these ideas sound? And what happened to McNally's Irish Pub in Elmhurst? Is that still an option?

Windy city gang.......
I live in cheeseland/milwaukee, but would be interested in driving down to see your cars/meet people. I tried to send an e-mail to cdog at the web site, but haven't heard anything back.
My cobra is a stock ffr 302 efi, but I am going to start upgrading this summer and need some tips on the brakes and suspension from a few ford guys. So, lemme know if you are looking to expand your group, Scott
