June 19th Elmhurst Cruise
Hi All.
The Elmhurst June 19th Cruise is expected to be HUGE, cause Ford nite is a big draw.
Elmhurst can reserve us about 15 spaces in the 5/3 Bank lot IF we can get there by 5:30 PM... Any cars after 5:30 may get spots but are not guaranteed.
In exchange for the spots, Elmhurst has asked that some of our members take time to work the "door" of the 5/3 lot to make sure only Fords enter.
So, some of us will be there early, block off the spots, and try to hold them for everyone. The problem is that the access rows are used as parking lots and once they are full no more cars can come in (and none can leave, so you're there until 9:30 or so).
I look forward to seeing everyone there. This message will also go out via email, so excuse the duplication if you get it twice.
Thanks,
C

I don't know... I will send out another e-mail to remind everyone. I hope that we can get 10-15 cars.

Oh well....
On my way to work this morning, I cooked my expansion tank! I normally run about 75-80 C on the highway without the fans and noticed the water temp escalating. Switched on the fans with little effect. Obviously, now I'm growing alarmed. As many of you know, I had some cooling issues with my car initially that I finally sorted out, hence my concern. Anyway... back to the story! So I pull over to see what's going on and I have coolant spurting from several locations on my expansion tank. This is probably my fault because I do drive this beast hard and regularly! (1200+ miles in the last 8 weeks with the abysmal weather we had!)
Anyway... I'm down (but not out!) and will miss this evening's soiree. I'm trying to get everything sorted out so I can still make the Fling!

Dave, sorry to hear the bad news. Let me know if you need a hand with your repairs, or a trailer (you might need it to get to Spring Fling ). I couldn't get anyone to switch work shifts with me for this evening so I won't be able to make it to Elmhurst tonight either. Hope to see everyone at the next event.
Rick.

This event turned out very well, with several Cobras in attendance. There were 300+ cars in Elmhurst with HUGE crowds. Cruisin Main Street was a 15 minute trip...
I will have pics and a little MPEG movie in the next newsletter!
