South Side Cruises?

Hi,

I haven't been on ClubCobra for a while (since the WCCC started) but was wondering if there is anyone on the south side. I know of a few guys but there must be others lurking out there. Where do you go and what nights are the cruise nights?
I usually go to a local cruise night on Thursdays in Crete. Last Friday went to Tinley Park. I'm thinking about a trip to Frankfort or Joliet one night but who knows. I know there is a nice sized group further north but thats just a little too far for me. Thats actually one of my goals....to drive up to meet some of you guys on the north/west side. (one of these days) I just don't like driving my cobra up 294 with all of the idiots on the road. Anyway, if you see me somewhere, say hey! I'll be in the Blue/Silver cobra. (Plates say BAZARE 1)

John, we did put together a list of all the area cruises, with many on the south side... I dont have it handy right now, but perhaps someone can e-mail it to you or post it...

A couple of good cruises are the events held by Rally Insurance/Cruises.. They are in Plainfield (Route 66) on Tuesday nites and also in Joliet on another night...

The frosted Mug (115th & Pulaski) has good cruises on Tuesday nite, with OK crusies on saturday (its harley night on sat)...

Lemont also has downtown cruises...

Thanks cdog, I have been to Frosted Mug but not out to Plainfield or Lemont. I think I do have that list you are talking about. I guess I'm interested in finding out where and what nights guys get together. I guess I'll just have to take a vacation day one Friday and make the 60-70 mile drive up to the west side. I hear there is a good group of guys up there. : )

Friday night at Rolling Meadows is always a good bet. There are usually 3-5 Cobras.

I was at Crystal Lake this last Thurs and there were 4-5 Cobras, some WCCC guys and some other guys. Thats a really good show, but very, very far from your house (you could get to Bloom-Normal quicker).

Do you show at Crete? Are there other Cobras there? We are neighbors (I am in Oak Forest).

Hi Tom,

I usually go to the Crete cruise every Thursday if I can. My wife owns a flower shop right on Main St so I try to park in front of it. I met a guy about ten miles from me that has a pretty radical Midstates. I haven't seen it yet but he was telling me about it last week. I will probably give him a call to come up this Thursday. Also, Kurt and Karl Gess from Gess Motorsport (in Crete) who build Cobras for FFR sometimes come up also. What cruise nights do you go to.

Is it the flower shop next to the Country Companies agency? She probably knows my wife's Aunt. For that matter, you might to. I am still building, so have been trying to go to the shows that WCCC goes to so I can see Cobras. Figured Crete was nearby, and we have relatives that live there, so would be a good time. Figured we could try to get into Aurelio's for some Pizza before or after. Maybe we will try to head out this Thursday. What time do things get going? Are you going to have your car there?

The flower shop is next to the Clark gas station. If the weather is good, I will be there. Cars start getting there around 5:30 - 6:00. Most cars leave around 9:00. I usually don't get home from work until 5:45 so I will have to get up there right away. How far along are you on your build?
