I'd love to go down with a group, if you guys don't mind that I don't have a Cobra yet! I'll have to talk to Dave Rodak about joining WCCC.
Are there more places to stay than these?
Hampton Inn (614) 851-5599
Days Inn (614) 878-8844
Fairfield Inn (614) 870-2880 *SOLD OUT
Cross Country Inn (800) 621-1429
I called the Cross Country Inn's 800# and they said they have 10 locations in the Columbus area. Anybody know which is the closest to the event?
Could those of you that have attended previous DVSF events tell me what you think of these places and do you recommend any others? Thank you! Terry

Da Fling Caravan
I do not have any updates, as of yet.
We are trying to establish a couple of strategic points to meet.
ONE,
From Chicago, it seems to me that somewhere around where 80 & 94 meet, or Merrilville sound about right.
any suggestions?
TWO,
How about Indinapolis for those Illinois folks coming from the south?
As far as Hotels go please book NOW!!!
If for some reason you cannot go you can always cancel.
I do not know at this point but I will talk to DV
and find out if any new hotels have been recently added.
I will update you Monday the 17th
or as soon as I find out.
Cdog (Chuck) please email me I want to speak to you.
and I do not have your email
Thanks
Arcenio

I'm going from Sterling, but I'll take I74 all the way. I'm staying at the Hampton Inn (5625 Trabue Rd.) but I think most of the hotels right in the area are full at this point. Snake Oil is right: If you think you might go, you'd be best off to call and reserve a room now if you still can and then cancel if you can't make it. Last year I called either the Hampton or the (Fairfield?) on Friday afternoon from the road and got a room. Not gonna happen this year... Terry: Look on Yahoo maps or similar for hotels on/around Trabue Rd. These are nice chain hotels near the highway; not by-the-hour!

Just an FYI: The Fairfield Inn is *sold out* for fri & sat. I ended up booking at the Hampton. They have always been nice when I've stayed with them in other locations. Breakfast too! As of today, both the Hampton and the Days Inn still have rooms avail.
A good meeting place is hard to figure out - especially with people coming from all over Illinois. May be easier to meet in Indiana somewhere, but everyones timing would need to be pretty good. I have 4 walkie-talkie type radios with about a 5 mile range that we use during our 4 car caravans down to Hilton Head every year. I'll bring them along just in case, and give them to the "leaders" in the group. They come in handy.
This may be a dumb question, but...........is anybody bringing their wives???? Or, is this a guy thing? Sorry, had to ask! I won't ask if anyone's bringing their Golf Clubs...........probably no time to fit in a round with all the activities going on. Besides, why spoil the joys you get by being around Cobra's all day, by the frustrations you get of beating around a little white ball that refuses to cooperate.

Good! I'll bring the wife! Sorry - had to ask. I asked some buddies about bringing the wives to a golf outting in Hilton Head a few years ago and almost got my head chewed off. Never been to DVSF, so I was just wondering what went on. Sounds like a lot of fun - and for a great cause. Can't come soon enough for me!
