Default Anybody at Windy City CC Dyno their car?

Was interested in taking the car to a dyno shop.
Thought maybe someone has done it and may have recomendations?

Anybody else interested?
Maybe we can get two ore three done together.

Arcenio, had mine done at Dick Strang in Waukegan. Would advise you not even bother with a chassis dyno if you are trying to get a horse power and torque reading. Usually the cars are to light and won't spin on the barrels at higher rpm's to get an accurate read. If you were just going for carb setting may be worth it but I wouldn't waste my money doing a chassis dyno again. Only good way to do it is if engine is out of the car. Just had that done but was very expensive.

Default dyno

Gary thank you for the info.
I always wanted to dyno my car to see what HP it has and torque.

My idea was to get two or three of us together and do a dyno.
But you say the readings are not accurate?

I know they had a dyno at th Spring fling but my car was not up to par at the time.

Oh well!
thanks again

Thumbs up

Arcenio,

A while back we had Al Lennon's SPF on the chassis dyno at Street Stuff in Addison. We spent the better part of the afternoon sorting out a couple of different size carbs. We had a great time with the car and dyno functioning well. I would recommend this dyno if you are looking to optimize your set-up. It's a bit pricey but worth it if you find some extra HP with a little tuning. Len

I did a dyno run at the fling and was real happy with the info. The guy was running up cars all day and it was money well spent. The o2 reading is the key as it shows you where your set up is. The cars are straped down and weight is not an issue. I just read a post that they will have one at R&G this year and it is 3 pulls for 75 w/ an o2 reading. Rich

If you can find a current eddy dyno the tune you'll get will amaze you. It can simulate part throttle loads for driveability.

Dyno tunes are absolutely worth it IMHO. You find power, torque and driveability you didn't know you had.

My motor was run-in on the dyno but the car's never been on the rollers. If you find a dyno shop you like, I'd be interested to hear about it.

Arcenio-
I just had mine done at Street Stuff. A little pricy, but as you know well worth it. My car is like night and day different.
